The temple of Goddess Ghanteswri is on the bank of river Mahanadi. A nice picnic spot with panoramic views. The walk through narrow passage across the power channel flooded with water is indeed very thrilling experience.

Ghanteswari mandir is one of the most famous temples in this area. The soothing atmosphere brings peace to one's body, mind and soul. You can go around after offering prayers to enjoy the beauty of nature. Must visit if you're in Sambalpur or near Chiplima.

Come in the months of rainy season when water are being released from a full brim Hirakud Dam. U have to gather tremendous courage to reach the temple by crossing the suspended 2 feet wide walkway. A breath taking view to remember forever.

The walk to the temple may make you dizzy because of the iron grill bridge. Once near to the temple see the beautiful thousands of bells hung all over the temple. The flowing river gives a wonderful view.
