At Yolk Farm, we know our eggs and we offer the very best brunch experience. Eggs from our happy hens are taken to the kitchen each morning where our chefs create amazing dishes that will blow your mind! We also have a modern, multi-award winning farm shop chock full of sustainable seasonal produce. Our kune kune pigs, pgymy goats, alpacas and hens are sure to delight on our farm walk too.

- MarthaNorth Yorkshire, United Kingdom4 contributionsA very long wait! Two of us went to Yolk today for brunch and it took over an hour to arrive. Whilst waiting for the food to arrive, another table left (due to a long wait) and another table asked where their food was. It was a shame we weren't given an apology. One meal was delicious and the other was OK, although we did expect the pancakes to be warm. Perhaps a little bit more communication would be nice- just someone to say food was taking a while- they didn't appear to be short staffed but they may well have been in the kitchen.Visited January 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 7 January 2023
- LightPacker5897702 contributionsA Poor ExperienceTheir website promises an "AMAZING BRUNCH EXPERIENCE" alas not to be for us. Visited on a Sunday morning at 10.30am Ideal location for travellers up and down the A1(M) however first let down were the coffees costing £3.95 served so cool you had to drink very quickly and then we were left waiting a while for our food and no drink, we certainly weren't ordering more cool coffees at that price so asked for tap water for the rest of the stay. I ordered the full "Yolkshire" breakfast at a staggering £15.95 again served so cool you had to bolt it down. Fried eggs that were overcooked, a disgusting sweetcorn fritter (what on earth!) a dry slice of black pudding which if you were to order as an extra would cost a whopping £3.20. I travel around from time to time and sample many farm café breakfasts as I prefer their ambiance, this was by far the most expensive and worst quality. With today's higher energy and staffing costs, I could understand the prices and we were happy to pay the prices but expected far better for our money. We were asked by a very polite assistant how everything was, we told him politely what was wrong but that was the last we heard, no apology from a manager which would have been courteous. Has great potential but needs to be so much better for the price charged.Visited January 2023Written 23 January 2023
- stewartym93 contributionsMixed feelings.Called in today for breakfast. Difficult to review as while the style is good with many unique features such as wooden crates and collanders as lamp shades and rope swings for seating, this does not make up for the the price point, which is high. They will say it is quality ingredients and inflation etc but £16 for a cooked breakfast is too expensive particularly when the ingredients were not noticeably better than any other independent provider. The place appears to be a magnet for young families so dont expect a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. With many restaurants in the area offering two course lunches for £14 per head, almost £40 for two breakfasts and coffee will put me off returning. The young staff were very pleasant.Good morning, I'm really happy to read you enjoyed our unique style and some of our features; we're very proud of our quirky café and being a little bit different! We very much are a family friendly venue, but we do see a huge range of customers here at Yolk Farm; some business meetings, couples, multi generational families and teenagers-young adults coming along with their friends for example. We hope that everyone feels welcome here. Your comments regarding our price point have been noted and we thank you for taking the time to write your review - especially your comment about our lovely team. We hope to see you again soon!Written 10 May 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited April 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 12 April 2023
- Jan M1 contributionTerrible ServiceI live so close to Yolk Farm it would be a delight to go but on every occasion I’ve been, I’ve been disappointed. I’ve never left a review but after yet another visit (in the hope I might get one good experience) I sadly have to say I will never go again. The place was quiet but I was left waiting to be seated then eventually was shown to a seat by a very miserable young man (had similar experience with said man on other occasions) who said it was table service. I waited and waited and after 20 mins I asked if anyone was serving to be told they were short staffed and told someone would come over. Eventually the same young man came to take my order, asked if ‘that was it’ and went. Again I was left, no drink no nothing so after I had been there from 1.50pm to 2.35pm (I was due to go to work at 3) I decided to leave and cancelled my order on the way out! Never to return.Visited June 2023Travelled soloWritten 8 June 2023
- Rob F1 contributionReally poor serviceReally poor experience. Arrived at 12pm.. didn’t receive food until 2pm at which point the kids were crying and completely ruined day. If can’t provide good service then should limit number of covers. Really disappointing service , won’t be rushing backVisited June 2023Travelled with familyWritten 18 June 2023
- Gill P3 contributionsDirty floor, dirty tables needs a good clean.Having driven past so many times we decided to call in for brunch. We arrived about 11.ish, we were greeted , and seated. The table was filthy, you could see the salt that the previous customer had spilt, it was sticky, there’s was what looked like a sticky marmalade ring. The table legs were covered in muddy shoe prints and the floor look liked it had not been swept or mopped for days. We did ask for the table to be cleaned, which it was. How clean is the kitchen I wonder??? As for the food, it was average but rather expensive. Would not go again. Spoken to some of my friends who say you visit once, but only once.Visited August 2023Written 5 August 2023
- Sally W4 contributionsWhat on earth.I visited yesterday and wanted to ignore the bad reviews and give Yolk a chance with it being so local, absolutely poor - service and food been lukewarm. It needs a serious look from management, the new barn where the 1500 strong flock were if now a 'Play barn' seems ok if you want an average day out with the kids. I wouldn't recommend the place. Both the GM and the head Chef need to be accountable with the ongoing issues.Visited August 2023Travelled soloWritten 26 August 2023
- Lucy P2 contributionsExtremely disappointingI’ve always liked this place but over the last few visits it’s just got worse and worse. From being ignored on arrival, to waiting 20 minutes to order, then another 30mins for drinks to arrive…only to be cold. Had to return my coffee and ask for a new one. Zero efficiency and a lot of waiting around. The service going downhill, and the prices exponentially increasing every visit. Would sadly no longer recommend.Visited August 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 30 August 2023

Decided to do a detour via here. I'm so glad we did. If there
is a que, stay with it as it will be worth it.
I had the Hunter's breakfast, and it was amazing. Full of flavour and looked great when it arrived. Hubby had the full yolk'shire breakfast. Again, it was full of flavour so much so it didn't get soaked in brown sauce.
The staff were amazing and spoke to Beth to pass on to the team how delighted we were. Would certainly recommend to friends and family if they were to travel that way.

Arrived as a hungry party of 10 adults and 2 children at 1.30pm on Sunday 29 October after being let down by a local establishment. Couldn't have been more helpful and obliging in accommodating us. Excellent food and service, thank you.

Yolk accommodated a party of 12 on Sunday lunch time at short notice after being let down by The Wild Swan in Minskip.
We all enjoyed an excellent meal and service perhaps you could give the Wild Swan some lessons in how to look after Customers.
Thank you and we will return.

What a lovely shop. So much choice, loads of amazing fresh produce and a great selection of vegan products too. We were helped by Jules and Amelie and they were both lovely - super helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. I left with the most beautiful bunch of flowers and the best vegan chocolate buttons I’ve ever had. Need to come back to stock up! Highly recommended.

Great farm shop with lots of choice and really nice restaurant too. Was surprised to find vegan options and produce too. There are animals for the kids to see and it's easily accessible from the A1. Amelie and Jules helped us out in the shop by pointing out all the vegan items, and were very friendly and chatty. Will definitely be back.

This is our third breakfast visit to Yolk with my husband, mother in law and baby and we have enjoyed it each time. The restaurant is lovely inside, the menu has a varied and interesting selection of dishes (including gluten free), the food is delicious and the portion sizes are very generous. Special shout out to our waitress Olivia for her warm and friendly welcome & service on two occasions.
We also love the animals you can visit on site after your meal.

Becoming regulars as my pregnancy craving is their wonderful green smoothies! My partner and I love popping in, staff are always so welcoming and friendly in both the cafe and farm shop. We’ve been served by Bex the past few times and she is so so lovely, goes above and beyond! Farm shop is also always very impressively stocked with fresh seasonal produce, our new favourite local destination!

Visited the farm on a review from a friend with the grandkids and it didn’t disappoint, we had a wonder around to see the animals and bumped into Lee who was so friendly and great with the kids, he took the time to explain about all the animals to them which was really great! He was very knowledgeable and friendly. The farm shop was great - didn’t visit the cafe but intend to next time - thank you Lee!

A little on the pricey side compared to others but then to balance that the food was good and the service excellent. Overall, I'd go back when in the area.
