Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Chalong Bay Pier has been renovated since I first visited 2 years ago and what an improvement on what was already a lovely place to dine. We chose a table by the water for lunch under a large tree and our meal was delicious. My husband order the Prawn Pad Thai and I had a red curry chicken with rice, we also ordered drinks being a Coke for Luke and I had the usual cocktail this time being a Mojito and the bill came to 440 baht which is $16 AUD. After lunch you can take a walk along the jetty to the Marina to burn off the calories from lunch!

Not too much to offer to be honest. Just a by the way place. The sunset is nice and you can grab a few shots of the boats.

Its a long pier and good on a cloudy quiet day with no crowds
Otherwise avoid when busy or not bored
Nothing spectacular but day boats and expensive fish restuarant to have a meal

The Chalong pier is home to day trip charter companies then operate speed boats, diving and snorkeling boats to surrounding islands in Phuket.
It’s extremely busy during high season with unbelievable loads of noisy tourist who go out on day trips.
The pier are in poor and sometimes dirty condition which creates a bad impression to visitors. There is entrance fee for bikes, cars to go to the end of the pier from where boats depart.
Custom clearance for yachts and boat service is available here which is the positive but anchorage around can be dodgy to find.
If you not going on a day trip not worth visiting for sight seeing. Save your time for other activities.

This place is a disaster. The crowds are too much. The boats are unsafe. The packed buses transporting people to boats are dangerous. The reports online of accidents are numerous. We boarded a boat, traveled a short distance and immediately insisted on being returned due to unsafe boat conditions. My observation was reinforced when I read a news article stating over half of all boats in Chalong Pier were cited for safety violations.
Royal Phuket Marina is a much safer place with western type safety standards. One visit to Chalong was enough to scare me away for good.

A place to go if you're catching a boat, otherwise nothing but a long concrete jetty! Area seems quite run-down, apart from a couple of expensive restaurants.

Three quarters of a mile long with stunning views of Big Buddha high above. You can see many boats along the walk and can always take the bus back if the walk up to the end was too much. Great views of some of the islands right across to Cape Panwa and evenings are best when it is a bit cooler. Perhaps eat first at the best restauarant in Phuket next to the pier...Kan Eang...with very fresh seafood and great Thai food albeit a little expensive but worth evry penny for top quality dining next to the water.

There's a lot of traffic getting to the jetty as the road is under construction. If you are taking your boat trip from here, make sure you allow extra time for the congestion.

We were dropped off at the pier to spend two nightd on an islandi called knoll lon, we made a mistake of taking a longboat with a man who approached us, and asked for 1800bhat, the hotel did say that s man from thier hotel would be there to take us. So be careful not to be taken in when a man approaches you, make sure the man is from your hotel......

Here is a place for an evening stroll before or after dinner if you are staying near. Daytime can be too crowded as well as the weather issues: too hot, too wet etc
