Visited the Velo Rail.We didn't book but the young man who served us sorted everything. He was brilliant. He had to work the Cafe, the ticket office and the museum. He was so attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Once he had booked us in he sorted out drinks. My wife and I sat outside till we was... More

This is simply two bikes welded together at the correct distance to fit one on each rail of a railway - so tandem cycling but side by side. Being on an old railway line this mean there is little in the way of a slope so a nice gentle ride for everyone. They had different sized bikes for children and... More

Great way to spend your afternoon. Can be a bit tiring, so prepare ;-) Or just sitting at the railway cafe is pleasant enough.

We drove about 100km from the camp site we were staying to experience the ride. We weren't really sure if it was worth it, but after getting there we had no doubts any more - it was very enjoyable time! We didn't book a velo-train in advance, but it was no problem - we were allocated in the next available... More

We had a lovely couple of hours on the two hour journey. My two children also thoroughly enjoyed the novel experience. Great value for money and also an interesting exhibition. It's a shame that the lady who sold tickets and organised the trips also had to juggle working in the cafe. She was always waiting for her colleague to turn... More

Think of laurel and hardy propelling themselves along a railway.....and you come close! Two bikes welded to a fabrication that clips onto the rails, and a hammoc style seat in between. Peddle away and off you go along a deserted railway line. Excellent fun! The station is reall pretty, with restored waiting area as in the days of the railway... More

We arrived on a Friday morning for the 10:30 departure on the 14km route. There was just our party of 4 (on two velo rail bikes) plus one other couple, so no need to book thankfully. We were a bit confused about how all this would work, but it is all very simple in practice. Each velo car sets off... More

Cheerful and patient staff, even with our mediocre french. We had a lovely, gentle ride through pretty scenery. Suitable for the whole family.

I have never owned or ridden a bicycle and when I heard about the velo rail- I thought this was an answer to an item on my tick-list....and at a rather late age. The office and station has been very well done; there is even a small café; All the staff on the day we went were charming and helpful;... More

A lovely surprise in the country recommended by a friend. The equipment was all in good condition and the route took you through a pretty part of the countryside. My only hesitation is that your french must be pretty good to understand the spoken instructions, so that you are aware of where the route finishes and understand how to turn... More
