If you plan to do your trip to Karlštejn you should definitely save some time for Velká Amerika. It is beautiful place and you can also do a bit of hike and go down to the water. Definitely worth the picture too:)

Lots of photo opportunities. It’s a small walk around the hole with a longer stop in the opposite side from the direction where you arrive. It took us 2 hours in total. There is another quarry next to it called Mexico, smaller and not filler...More

This old quarry is officially not open for public but offers a great view. It is easy to walk around it, however going in to the quarry is a bit more complicated and dangerous.

Words do not do this place justice. Simple amazing. The trails around it are in good shape and the view is one of a kind.

I was scared at first that this walk will require a good physique but it does not. The parking lot is located right next to the beautiful view, so I suggest this activity also to coach potatoes.

This was my first visit of velka amerika and I was horribly dissapointed. Although the scenery is so amazing, the most negative thing is the rubbish - it is everywhere (kids diapers, pizza box, bottles and so on)!!!!!

This was a fun place to visit. A little dangerous if you get too close to the edge but great views of the canyon walls and lake. Overall a nice walk, collect some rocks as you go and listen to the ping as the hit...More
