Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fabulous boat trip- can highly recommend. A good mix of time on the boat, and time on land to visit the loch. Sandy and Brooke so entertaining and the hot chocolate and homemade shortbread, on the way home was very welcome 🤗. Bonus of seeing dolphins magical!

Fantastic views, excellent storytelling and lovely walk to Loch Coruisk. Saved from the cold by hot chocolate, thanks for a great trip!

We had 3/10 days of our Scotland trip booked in Skye, and while this wasn’t initially on the list, after a local recommendation we made the lovely drive down to Elgol for the 3hr cruise with Cpt. Sandy and Alistair - we couldn’t believe our luck.

3 generations are keeping Misty Isle Boat Trips alive, and the insightful commentary and wonderful perspectives on the local community and sights were invaluable.

Getting to see the remote Lake Coirusk (only accessible by boat or multi-day hike) was the highlight of our trip, and the refreshments, snacks, and storytelling afterwards were second to none. We’ll be shouting their praises from the rooftops and booking a return trip the next time we’re around!

A last minute decision thanks to a change in the weather but so glad we did! My husband and I had both been wanting to take a trip with Misty Isle for a while and as we were passing through Skye for a couple of days on our way home from the Outer Hebrides, the weather forecast suddenly picked up so we booked a trip! Sandy and Alasdair (sorry if I've spelled your name wrong!) were fantastic, so genuinely warm and friendly, full of stories and humour. It was lovely to meet young Seumas as well on the other boat, say hi to Coral for me and give Ruairidh some head scritches! The crossing was a little choppy and splashy so we didn't see any of the dolphins who often accompany the boats, but there were plenty of seals hauled out on the rocks near Loch Coruisk, and wow the Loch itself is stunning! Absolutely loved the trip, definitely want to spend more time ashore so maybe we'll take a longer boat trip next time we are on Skye! Thank you all so much! 😁

Unbelievable experience. Sandy is a great skipper, the landscape is jaw-dropping, and everyone had a great time that we will be talking about forever. We also saw dolphins, seals, and birds.

The Misty Isle Boat trip was a highlight of our trip to Skye. Our boat skipper gave a history of the area and you can tell that he loves what he does. We didn't have the best weather that day but it was still a fantastic trip. On the way back to Elgol, a local lobsterman called us over to show us some of the things he catches in his lobster traps. Hot coffee, tea or cocoa on the way back to Elgol was a treat.

Fantastic day! Great weather. Staff were welcoming and informative…great stories! And a plus for being dog friendly too!

Sadly no dolphins today but plenty of seals and birds to see!

Family owned business, very friendly.
Lovely views although it was rather cloudy. We enjoyed it.
Also, skipper gave us some historical facts along the boat ride. On the way back we were offered coffee, tea, hot chocolate and shortbread :)

We didn't get to see any of the dolphins or seabirds, but we did see severals seals living their best life and got to observe them and take pictures.

It gets rather windy and chilly, plus you might get splashed a bit, so make sure you're dressed conveniently. Trip date: May 30th. 11 o'clock trip.

This was just a perfect day out for us, elderly parents and the young kids. Seumas and son were gracious hosts, some fantastic local tales told en route and the hot cocoa and homemade shortbread was just the job after a muddy scramble around Loch Coruisk. Our son’s day was made being allowed to drive the boat!
