Stephen’s tour had great variety, dramatic Views, creativity, expert military history from a veteran, and even a ghost story. We loved every amazing second of our time with this expert tour guide. Highly recommended!

Very enjoyable day with a very knowledgable tour guid. Would recommend the private tour with 4 friends. My only criticism is that we didn’t take the lifeboat out.

Blimey, that was fun! Harbour porpoise swimming around the boat, down in the bowels of the Life boat, the magnificence of the old Life boat at the Museum and the reflection on the reality of what living by the Pentland Firth really means, the views, the knowledge (I finally know what some of those wartime buildings are!), the beautiful romance of Rackwick and the delightful glimpse into history in the museum house and old school. Plus a walk along the cliffs with geos, views (surprisingly because it was a pretty misty atmospheric day). Steve is a mine of info and a fabulous host. He tailored the day beautifully.

What a fantastic tour, well worth booking the exclusive one for up to a group of 6. Our tour guide Kim listened to what we wanted to do, adjusting the schedule to ensure my son got plenty time on the beach to paddle and added in some spots of historical things that interested him. Kim had so much knowledge and made the day extremely enjoyable. Highly recommend

We had an absolutely brilliant day out with Steven on Hoy. The day was perfect and very much tailored to what we were most interested in. In our case nature, birds and wildlife. Steven was incredibly knowledgeable of the island, its animals, its history, its people and its stories. I booked the day as a present for my partner’s birthday and Steven couldn’t have been more thoughtful in making the day special. (The picnic was also delicious!) We both commented afterwards on how we couldn’t have seen as much as we did without Steven (both in terms of the volume of things and knowing where to look). On top of that, Steven is really lovely and it was great to see the island with someone who is so much part of the fabric of Hoy. We couldn’t recommend the trip highly enough – a real highlight of our trip to Orkney.
