The family have created a beautiful style garden on this 6 acre site including flower beds, fruit trees, water features and a 17th century field pattern. Plenty of plant life to purchase and a tea and coffee room for refreshments. Allow two to three hours.

I never knew this place existed until the wife was looking up south african plants. We paid the entrance fee of £4.50 to see the gardens of which there are several. We spent a nice peaceful afternoon walking round the gardens looking at plants. That are all in local soil. There is no special compost etc used. This is a... More

Came here for amore idea of plants to use in my garden for autumn/winter blooming. A lot of the plants needed deadheading which dud not give a good display with seeing all the dead flowers. Although we've had bad rainy weather I would expect the grass to be of good drainage as I wore flip-flops & ended up with my... More

Intriguing garden spread over quite a few acres. In all seriousness it would take half a day to get around and see everything. Scones and coffee very good and reasonably priced. Good selection in nursery with big plants at £10 and smaller versions at £5. Premises immaculately kept and staff friendly and obliging. Only small criticism is that a lot... More

We had a lovely visit to this beautiful, large garden just a few weeks ago. It was a sunny morning but the grass was quite wet from the previous days' rain - bear this in mind when visiting as you will be walking along a lot of grass paths during your visit. There is a small charge per person for... More

Only heard about this place lately, and the garden was as beautiful as described. There is great variety of plants and some woodland paths. A lovely little tea room provides tea, coffee and tray bakes and is run as a self-service - with honesty box! A very homely atmosphere is further enhanced by the friendly and helpful staff.

Great wee spot for a bit of horticultural therapy. The owners are extremely knowledgable about plants in general and their more unusual varieties in particular. The garden is full of gorgeous, rarer varieties of many garden favourites and in the late spring and summer it is a riot of colour. Easy to get to and well worth the effort. Plants... More

A garden centre unlike others. This garden centre is attached to the owners home so you can see the plants in their garden and how best to grow them. You get pkants that are different.
