Birdseye view of rugged wilderness mountain ranges, mirror-glass waterways to the stillness of Bathurst Harbour, capture amazing mirror-image photos of surrounding mountainous landscape, experience sudden weather changes and the excitement that brings. Explore sheltered pebbled beaches whilst enjoying delicious food provided; all this and more in one day in the Wilderness in Tassie's most south western regions. Best time to... More

The 3 day [2 night] wilderness tour allowed us to visit this very remote wilderness area in the south west which, until we discovered the Par Avion tour, we could only dream about. There are no roads in, so to see this pristine area you need to walk [about 7 days carrying everything], sail or fly. While Par Avion's day... More

We booked and traveled into the remote south west wilderness with par-avion - and the experience was unforgetable... whilst NOT cheap at nearly $1000 for the two of us, every single bit of the experience was executed with care and precision. Amazing pilots and skippers usher you through this pristine area with amazing coffee stops and lunch on remote quartzite... More

We received a friendly welcome upon arriving and our pilot Kayle gave excellent customer service. His preflight instruction was clear, take offs and landings smooth and inflight commentary top notch. An added bonus was the viewing of the ships gathering in the Derwent for the Parade of Sails. This was spectacular and we'd highly recommend this flight of 30 minutes

We had a wonderful 3 day/2 night camp experience - fantastic guides - Peter and James worked as a perfect team! Peter was incredibly knowledgable about the history, flora and fauna of the area, and his personal anecdotes from his past meetings and conversations with the original settlers was a huge bonus. Accommodation and food was good - local Tasmanian... More

Highly recommend this trip. Our guide, Peter had an amazing knowledge of this beautiful wilderness area. Both he & James could not have done more to make our trip more memorable! Loved the walks, picnics, boat trips....food & accommodation were great & our group all felt we could have stayed longer....

We did the full day tour to Bathurst Harbor, and it was well worth the time and money. Basically it is a narrated small aircraft flight from Hobart to the extreme southwest tip of Tasmania and back with a boat excursion through Bathurst Harbor (it's not really a harbor, more a wild, protected bay or sound) in the middle. The... More

We were recommended the Par Avion day trip 'A Day in the Wilderness' from friends who had done the trip and were so glad we did! In the lead up, we read the Denny King book, King of Wilderness, to learn more about the area and became really fascinated to see how he and others had made their home in... More

I did the full day trip down to Melaleuca and Bathurst Harbour. It was worth every hard-earned penny spent! The flight from Hobart to Melaleuca followed the coast line before heading inland, providing an incredible perspective of Hobart, Bruny Island and the SW as a whole. Morning tea in the bird hide was great, and I surprised myself with how... More
