We're all about reconnecting people with the outdoors, themselves and each other.
We're an outdoor and adventurous activities centre that offers a range of water and land-based activities for the public, school and corporate groups.
You are not just another customer or group to us... You are like-minded friends who we want to help enjoy the adventure with us.
As a Royal Yachting Association and British Canoeing training centre South Cerney Outdoor offers excellent facilities and resources by a 47-acre lake of crystal clear water and the River Churn. The area is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and one of significant beauty, making South Cerney Outdoor uniquely positioned among outdoor training and adventure centres in Gloucestershire.

A lush winter swim and a warming cuppa after.
Friendly staff, welcoming and keeping a look out for you, great facilities, slopping entry to lake with a course that feels big enough that you're getting a swim and close enough to the exit.
Large clean changing room.
Cafe on lakeside with good menu. Lots of vegan options. Three types of cake were vegan friendly when I asked.
Definitely visit again

Lake 12 is a lovely lake for open water swimming and has great facilities - changing rooms, shower, cafe etc. Nice staff, easy and ample parking and easy to get in and out of the water.

Wonderful time spent on the water with our grandchildren. The very kind lady that helped us couldn't have been more helpful and so patient with us, she explained everything so clearly,

This is a lovely lake to swim in, and it has great changing facilities, and a nice cafe for after your swim. It’s only a small circuit- about 200m- and stays close to the edge (because they want to staff it by paddleboard not a motor boat). That if fine for a winter dip, but it would be nicer to have a bigger loop out into deeper water where it is less weedy. I went to try it as a £5 opening offer, and if you kept it at that price I would definitely come more often in winter. I don’t think you can really justify a higher price, as other local places that offer outdoor swimming offer a lot more in terms of swimming options even though they charge a bit more than that. There’s certainly potential to be a great swimming lake, but you need to consider what you are offering before you put the prices up.

Did the windsurfing as part of a company team building activity. The gear was in good condition and the instructors were very helpful. Especially when giving tips and pointers while we were on the water.

What an amazing place!
We hired The Lodge for a private friends and family 80th birthday celebration and were absolutely blown away. It was the perfect space for our informal and intimate get-together (20 guests), with gorgeous views of the sunset and moon rise over the lake.
Our host Matt was brilliant - welcoming, friendly and professional, providing a good range of personally sourced and selected local ale, wine and non-alcoholic drinks, including his amazing coffee! Chef Paul laid on a stunning array of dishes to delight the eye and the palate - the quality and quantity was outstanding - this man is a genius in the kitchen.
We thoroughly recommend this hidden gem of a venue for similar events. It's perfect for any families or groups of friends looking for a relaxing and intimate venue with a difference. An informal space to chat with lakeside views, where a friendly welcome and quality food are guaranteed,

Have attended a couple of events at South Cerney Outdoor this year.
Have always found the admin to be good, the staff to be friendly, and the kit/facilities very good to use.
Plan to be back for a few more adventures on the water.

Very nice lake to Kayak on. Felt safe with other boats around. All the equipment required included and a safe provided for keys etc. Local restaurants nice and facilities very good.

What is the minimum age for use of the KataKanu? Would our 4 year old be able to join in on one with our family of 5?
