Closed due to Landslide
Nov 2019
Meenmutty waterfalls is quite near to Bansura Sagar Dam in wayanad. But unfortunately when we visited in 1st week of November-2019, it was closed for tourist due to landslide. Very disappointing.
The Guard at the ticket counter told us that it will remain closed for 1 more month.
It is probably 10-15 mins walk from the ticket counter.
Pl. check whether it is open for public or not before proceeding.

About 30km from Kalpetta. Walked up to falls. Tiring for unfit.
Worth the effort though.
Avoid during rainy season as water flow is strong.

One of my must-see place during my visit to Wayanad in May, 2019 is this place. I was very disappointed as this place is closed for visitors for now.
Not sure when this will be reopened.

WOW !! I would like to say alluring. Please never miss this spot.
It was our cousin who told us about this place and took us there. We are greatfull for that
One can really get a feel of trekking small walkthrough path till the water fall.
Smell of forest.
Nice Beautiful butterflies
Huge rocks.
At last you reach on top u can feel the waterfall. Enjoy it, come back down and take a swim in cold water. You can see the clear water pebbles under water fishes moving.
We enjoyed each movement in this place... I promise anyone who would want to go must go and will never never regret it.

Good Falls after a Trek
Nov 2018 • Family
Visited Meenmutty Falls with my family in November. Firstly, if you are visiting by car, there are multiple parking areas run by locals. Choose the one at the top/last, as this is the closest to the path leading to the falls.

The pathway leading to the falls, is a beaten mud path, with many small shops selling assortment of stuff. After walking about 500 meters, the pathway becomes rocky and it is good to take a little care.

There are 3 levels of the falls, with the highest level needing quite bit of mountain trekking, But the highest is the most scenic and is a must go, if physical condition permits.

SUPER !

We charged for the entrance , fall is average, you have to walk almost for a kilometer though nature. It is a sort of trekking. Narrow pathway and trees on both side is really amazing.
You can also play in tributary of water that comes down from fall water. The crowds were less ( May be after deluge)..We started walking up the indicated path. On the right side, where the lovely waterfalls would have been more super in the monsoon.

After going halfway up, the security guards there told us we now would have to use the ropes which were tied neatly, to climb further up. This place is not for families with kids or elderly people or people who are afraid of heights. Place closes at 5PM.
