“Iconic English Manor in great setting”
26 Aug 2017
“Very disappointing and over priced”
About
Stunning Cotswold manor house set in its own private valley. House dates to the 1400s but the site has been inhabited for over 1000 years. Magical hanging gardens open to the public: they slope gently from the church down to the brook at the bottom...more

I just did walk by of Manor House from accross the fields opposite and it is a stunning setting with the church in the background. Only, 15 minutes from Uley

Very disappointing. Tiny and un-notable gardens which can be seen in 10 minutes. Not worth £5 for a couple let alone per person. Nice location and the house looks attractive but you cannot see inside it. Church was worth seeing but not for a charge....More

A lovely house - from the outside, beautiful church and grounds But not worth the £5 entrance fee 😫 Just to see the rather limited gardens - could have seen the whole place from a public footpath No obvious toilets

I was on a course here for three days and was struck by the beauty and tranquil nature of the venue. We were based in Grist Mill and the Cyder House, both of which had charm and character.

Not a good start. It wasn't clear where we should go to pay or even to enter the gardens. There was a distinct lack of signs/maps. We decided to follow our noses and started near the house having heaved open a heavy gate. Health and...More

We had read much about these gardens, but on arrival were extremely disappointed with them. There was little in the way of flowers to see, which was odd given that we were there during spring. There was a walk around a boggy field, during which...More

We are sorry that TheOldMacs was not entirely satisfied with their visit to Owlpen, and cannot help but worry that they may have gone to the wrong place, as the description above does not bear a relation to any other descriptions of the Owlpen valley....More
