Words can't express how magical Jokusarlon Lagoon is! We did not book a boat tour and just spent our time walking the shoreline and taking in the beauty all around us. It's a very long drive from Reykjavik (6 hours) so I'd recommend making it...More

We stopped here for a couple of hours on our partial ring road trip. It was one of the highlights of our trip. It was neat just to watch the glaciers float into the lagoon and hear them crashing into one another, as well as...More

Well worth the trip! We booked a zodiac tour which fits 8 passengers plus the guide. You don't have to pay to visit unless you want to go out in the boat, although I do recommend the boat tour (the smaller more intimate zodiac boat,...More

Yes we had to do this in a day trip which was not ideal but I am so so pleased we took the opportunity. The six hour drive is easily forgotten once you see the simply stunning lagoon. Very icy on the day we went...More

Ice chunks and water are amazing! Ice is blue from the sunlight and is picture perfect to see. Located close to the road and parking, so its a very easy walk. Driving can be tough in wind/snow, so allow ample time to get there if...More

Nowhere else will you get to witness such a stunning display of nature, take your camera and snacks, you could simple spend an entire day soaking in the beauty. Not to be missed.

I absolutely love this lagoon and all the ice that flows to " black sand beach". I have been here three times . The Northern lights are great here too.

The Glacier Lagoon of Jokulsarlon was made famous by the James Bond movie - A View to Kill. And all tourists should go there to experience the magical scene of the floating icebergs, which had fallen off from the glacier above. Seals could be spotted...More

If you have more than 2 days in Iceland, you gotta drive there to see it. It's so beautiful. Even you don't pay to get on the boat to see the iceberg up close, you can still enjoy the breathtaking view. We saw some seals...More

We took the lagoon amphibian Boat Tour (with life jackets, dress warm - it is cold) which was way too short but gives you a good sense of the glacier and icebergs. They are a beautiful shade of blue and come in varying sizes all...More

I would check out Tour Radar - they're a great website for booking tours and the itineraries explain each stop. They're the best place for comparing and booking tours.

You can take a tour on a boat that will take you around the lagoon and up close to the floating icebergs. If you want to get even closer they have a small zodiac boat that holds less people. My favorite though is the kayak... More
