In our childhood when our world was not so much updated, when the words like Internet, Mobiles, 3G, 4G, data, Google etc. were not included in our life, Botanical Garden was the only destination in winter. Here the vast greenery, a large variety of trees, plants, flowers and over and above all the calm and serene, natural atmosphere will certainly... More

Its spread across a vast area having more than one entrance. We started off from one of the entrances, as we went along it seemed like there was nothing but vegetation growing every where. No board. No instructions. No facilities. The only thing to see is the huge banyan tree. We happened to take the entrance where we had to... More

Plenty of staff but seemingly little by way of care & attention being applied to this once beautiful gardens. It's a short taxi ride from central kolkata (less than 200 rupees) and near to Howrah station. Worth a visit just to see the great Banyan tree which unfortunately is now fenced off but this ranks definitely as a former glorious... More

The place is very beautiful for chill out as well as for academic purpose. It can be a much better place to hang out than eco tourism park if the authority pays some attention to maintain it properly.

Famous because of the oldest Banyan tree.... seeing the spread of the tree - about 20-25 mtrs across-is a wonderful sight. Otherwise lap around in the wilderness of nature or else take a paddle boat ride.

I visited this place after 15 years to find that the maintain attraction, Banyan Tree has been fenced. Unless you have lived all your life away from city level parks, this place offers next to nothing for tourist now since all you can do is stare at tree from distance.
