The Whitchurch Silk Mill is a fascinating working museum. When we visited one of the weavers talked is through the intricate process of silk making. It was fascinating to see such beautiful fabric being made on the site. We hope the weaver who spoke to us fulfils her dream of becoming a designer.
Despite visiting the cafe at the end of the day, the staff did not rush us and we were able to enjoy delicious cakes at the end of our visit.
Although the weather was too grim to sit outside, it was lovely to walk along the river and see the graceful willows, and ducks, geese and swans gliding by.

Thank you so much for leaving us such a lovely review. We are now just one of three silk mills in the UK and the only one where people can see silk weaving. As a living museum, we work hard to keep this part of our national heritage alive. Thank you for taking the time to review our silk mill

We have basically spent the summer in your surroundings and loved it. Sadly today I experienced bullying and being screamed at publicly for several minutes in front of other customers by your awful unprofessional staff. Do not expect us to come and spend our money with someone who behaves this way. We prefer people with manners, good customer service and politeness to what you just delivered.

Really enjoyed our trip to the Silk Mill. It’s was so interesting to hear about the process of making and weaving the silk.
The volunteer guides were full of interesting information and always willing to answer questions. They really made the whole experience.
The setting is beautiful especially on a lovely sunny day. The cafe food and drink was good and reasonably priced.
I’d throughly recommend a visit.

Thank you John, for your visit and for leaving us a review. Leaving reviews is really helpful as we love to know that our visitors have enjoyed their visit. The car parks in Whitchurch have now reverted to all be free of charge, the main car park in the town was until recently charging. This caused everyone to park in the Winchester Street Car Park. Now that they are all free it has helped spread the parking around the town.
Here is a link to our getting here page which includes all the car parks if you find the one next to us full again. They are all free and within a few minutes walk of the Mill. https://whitchurchsilkmill.org.uk/getting-here/

Went for a day out with friends. Can't say that I was that impressed.
It is a beautiful setting, but for me not really value for money.
Yes we saw all of the machinery, but it was all very quiet .
Would have liked to see someone working something, instead of having to read everything.
The couple of videos were interesting.
We were in and out in less than 2hrs.
Very disappointed

Thank you so much for visiting the Mill and leaving us a review. As a museum not all our machinery is working all the time, and it very much depends on where our weavers are working as to what you will see working. We also have volunteer stewards who give visitors guided tours. We are looking for more volunteers to steward to cover more of our opening hours as I agree it does make the visit more meaningful,

The mill was lovely and especially the role play area for children.
I think the 10£ are a bit overpriced though, the town is nice to walk around too
