Excellent background to the 3rd Battle of Ypres. Does not grab the emotions like a cemetery visit, and so felt a bit dry. Interesting video interviews with survivors of the battles. Really good representations of the dugout and trenches, and lots of historical detail, but...More

An excellent museum, providing plenty of information and artefacts, which helped us to understand all aspects of WW1. Do not miss the watching the short video.

Family trip to Zonnebeke, including a visit to the museum. We found it interesting and informative. The children enjoyed the more interactive parts most. Trying on armour and exploring the dugout and trench sections, were definitely favourites, but there was plenty for everyone, more than...More

A friend in Canada recommended this museum and I am glad that I visited. The collections are extensive and well presented. I actually learned quite a bit here. If you could only visit one Western Front museum, I recommend this one.

The basement of this chateau has been made into bunkers and represents the conditions in which the British soldiers lived (if they were lucky). Very atmospheric it's a must see.

Situated in a park with a lake, this museum is inside a beautiful old timber framed building. We paid 21.00 euros for 2 tickets and for this you get an audio tour and a visitor's guide (156 page book) all about the war in Flanders....More

This museum is a must-see! It is different in nature from the In Flanders Fields museum in Ypres (Ieper), and therefore both can be visited without too much overlap. Covering WW1, the converted mansion takes you through different rooms of artefacts before then taking you...More
