A few hours away from the hustle and bustle of Corralejo.
We spent a lovely quiet few hours on Isla de Lobos today (10-Dec-23). Cheap water taxi there and back provide a few hours away from the hustle and bustle of Corralejo. Very few people on the beach and great weather with calm water, along with a nice picnic (no shops so bring plenty of fluid) made for a great afternoon.

    Very wild natural island
The beauty of the island is its unique and natural landscape it really is quite staggering. Benefiting from giving few amenities and a charge to get there which ensures its never that busy. We took food and water and enjoyed a few hours lounging around and swimming in the crystal clear waters. The cafe does a fabulous Cortada! Highly recommend if you like out of the way, interesting places that aren't full of shops and cafes.....just glorious nature, with fish swimming by and little birds and lizards flashing by. Did think about walking up the Volcano but just to hot to try!

    Trip to Lobos Island
Had a great half day at Lobos island, did not pre book just paid at the Harbour €15 per person. Stayed for 4 hours, did the full walk around the island which took around 2 hours then stayed at the beach & snorkelled. The little cove with the jetty is beautiful, great spot for a beer from the restaurant we didn’t eat but the food looked great.

    Lovely island
Lovely island worth a trip. Don't wear sliders or flip flops take them in your bag. It's gravel tracks / paths. Not suitable for people with limited mobility. Nice beach on the island and natural pools. We got the glass bottom boat, with snorkeling for 25 mins with all the fish in the ocean! amazing experience. You also get a drink and return boat a few hrs later £25 euros each from corralejo harbor.

    A nice little excursion
Such a beautiful island So much history and amazing scenery This was a perfect excursion for me as I love walking. Arrived via coach to the ferry point, ferry journey was only about 15 minutes Staff aboard were very helpful and friendly. The island itself, is a lot of walking which I personally like. A lot of nature to see and information boards are available which a brief history of the island. Lots of picturesque spots and there is a beach which you can sit on or take a swim in the water. You’re given 4 hours to explore which is plenty of time! My only heads-up to fellow people wanting to visit would be don’t expect the bright blue sky’s like you see in some of the photos 😂 it isn’t a guarantee

    Lobos island
Ignore all the negative comments and doyour homework on the island before you go .yes facilities are very limited so take your own food and drink. Beaches are lovely sand.water temp is same temperature as in correlejo . Port is small and fishing village good for photos and the Instagram pic on the boardwalk is a must. The walk up the hill is good fo photos but you eed to know its very steep and rugged . We used the blue glass bottom boat and was great but it choppy coming back . Don't forget to get your permit for your visit from gov website .there free but didn't get checked whilst on island .

    Highly recommend
Absolutely loved it! We got a speed boat over from Corralejo which was a brilliant and exhilarating way to travel. When we arrived we decided to walk round the whole island and also to climb the volcano. If you turn right from where the boat docks you can stay at some small beaches with beautiful shallow water, or go to the restaurant. This part was very busy but when you get past it you barely see anyone. The island itself it’s stunning, the water around you and the scenery is to be admired. The volcano is a steep and tiring short walk but worth it for the views at the top. We were there 4 hours and actually could have done with a bit longer. Highly recommend for beach lovers, walkers, or people that want to try something new.

    Peaceful and rugged
Enjoyed our visit - comfortable 20 min boat journey and strolling on trails all clearly signposted. Peaceful and atmospheric though not much natural shade so take care in the heat. There were cold drinks and bottled water for sale at reasonable prices which was a pleasant surprise !

Took a day trip by ferry as we were told this would be the highlight of our holiday. It wasn’t. We paid €15 each for ferry. Firstly we had to book our ferry time back which is kind of annoying as until you’re there how long are you meant to know how long you’ll stay.
We were told there was a restaurant where we could get paella for €8, so we didn’t take food. We walked around the island which was pretty. Got to restaurant at 2pm and was told they only took reservations and the next slot was 4pm. The small takeaway opposite also said the same, no food until 3.30pm, even after queuing in the heat. No signage, nothing. We were starving, so managed on crisps as there was nothing else on offer. Went back at 3.30pm and kitchen was closed. Couldn’t get an early boat back as we booked the last one at 5pm. Went to beach but it’s so small you couldn’t find a space.
Toilets were in another area and they closed at 3pm. Why would the only toilets on the island close at 3pm when last boat goes at 5.15pm. Eventually got hugely overcrowded boat back.

We expected much better. If you are encouraging people to visit the island and making them stay all day then facilities need to be better, or at least pre warn when booking to take own food and drinks etc.

Some reviews had discouraged me, but I wanted to evaluate it myself and it was worth it. My partner and I did the walking tour along the coast passing by the salt flats, the lighthouse and the Caldera volcano up to the beach near the pier. The route of approximately 12 km is not too complicated, but at least with tennis shoes (I don't know how they managed it in slippers!). On the island the only point where you can stock up on drinks or food is the restaurant which also does take-away/bar. The island is wild so on the route along the coast you will find nothing other than the path so bring water and a hat. I recommend bringing an umbrella because the sun is really strong and it is less windy than Fuerteventura, so after the walk a bit of shade is necessary while waiting for your return.
We booked the ferry ticket online at a cost of €17 per person, I recommend going to the port a little early for the car park and to find the boat you booked because you risk wandering around without finding it.
Trip not to be missed.

Took a trip to Lobos on the glass bottom boat although this was sold as the ferry- it cost us 15€ and took around 15 mins. Wonderful day trip and hike, with fantastic views. Would definitely recommend a trip to Isla de Lobos if you want to escape Corralejo. Did not make it to the restaurant unfortunately, would have given ourselves a bit longer than 3 hours on reflection.

An unmissable tourist destination in Fuerteventura, the Isla de Lobos is located about two kilometers from Corralejo and can be reached by boats and ferries that can be booked on site or online at an average cost of 16 euros per person. The island owes its name to its ancient inhabitants, the sea lions (lobos marinos in Spanish) and, once disembarked after just ten minutes of navigation, you can walk along a path of about 12 kilometers that runs along the island. Following the route clockwise you reach la Concha beach which overlooks Corralejo and is very sheltered from the currents, making it excellent for a swim. Continuing the journey you reach the Marrajo salt pans, a little disappointing to be honest as they are poorly maintained and disused. The main attraction of the island is the Caldera mountain with its 270 meters of height and a path made with stone stairs to reach the top. The route is challenging and you need suitable shoes to avoid slipping on the gravel but it's worth it. Once you reach the summit you can enjoy a spectacular view but be careful of strong gusts of wind. Continuing on the path you come across the Faro de Martino and the Lagunitas, i.e. brackish water lake formations surrounded by lush vegetation in stark contrast to the barren and arid nature of the island. The last stop is represented by El Puertito, characterized by several natural pools with crystal clear turquoise water that vary according to the tides in a setting of lava rock. Here you will also find a small restaurant where you can rest while waiting for the return ferry.

You have to choose what time you want to return before you even get there. You are not issued with life vests or told where they are stowed. The boat was overcrowded. The island cafe is too small to accommodate all the visitors. They ran out of sandwiches. There are not enough bins.

Lovely island, we got a glass bottom boat over to the island and had a walk round. Stopped by a little swimming bay. Would recommend taking food/drink with you as there isn't a lot of places (we found a little cafe by chance). Wouldn't recommend it if you have mobility issues as wouldn't say the paths are very wheelchair friendly (being gravel paths)

The ferry trip with the Celia Cruz company is the best of all, it's a shame that the journey only lasts 15-20 minutes.

And once on the island, the routes are paths with quite a few stones that make it a little uncomfortable to walk until you reach the beach, there are a lot of people, everyone wanting to take a photo on the famous walkway, a tremendous queue, and the beaches are more like coves, they don't cover anything, which is very good for children, but I personally like more depth, and you don't see any marine fauna or any kind.

I recommend visiting only if you are nearby, if you are in the southern part of the island like us who are staying in Jandia, it is better not to go or go on your own by car, because the bus trip is extremely heavy, 3 hours is very tiring , and if you get a bus with weak or non-existent air conditioning, prepare for an unbearable trip.

I had high expectations, but I didn't like it at all. So you don't miss anything by not going.

Great place to visit, make sure you have plenty of water with you if you are visiting the island during summer time. You'll need a good few hour to be able to see the island properly. We went there with a half day tour which was a great way of learning about the history of island and get to swim in crystal clear waters surrounding the island to cool down. There are water taxis that you can use to get to the island if you wish. Toilet facilities are available in the island. If you wish to use the islands famous restaurant, I'd suggest to use the water taxi as you won't have enough time to sit there and enjoy the scenery if you are on a tour.

A nice day if you are prepared to walk. Lovely views but there is no shade on the island, so wear appropriate clothing and footwear, and take lots of water and food. If you want to see the whole island, it may be worth doing two separate trips. The toilets in the visitor centre were shut, but there seemed to be some near the only restaurant (which was very busy). To get to it, bear right as you leave the place where boats drop you off.

We spent almost 3 hours on the island and walked the beautiful circular route, which took about 2 hours. In the small town there is a quiet bay and a small restaurant where you can stop for a break and extend your stay if necessary. I wouldn't necessarily recommend the island without hiking, though, because there isn't much to do and see, and you should be aware that it could quickly get boring. The ferry crossing is really quick!
