This tower has a surprisingly good view. And a really cool concept looking for the monster in the lake. There is a good trail from the parking, and also places for picnic etc.

Seljord was not on our traveling list except for a place to stop after a long day of driving. This small village was a lovely find with a legend of a sea serpent that lives in the town's lake. The tower which rises 17 metres helps to see if the sea serpent called Selma appears. Hmmm, perhaps the seagull that disappeared was an appetizer for the monster! Lots of walks and legends in this small town. The tower also gives a great view of the sparkling and quiet lake. There are even phone numbers to call in case you see the monster. The kids loved this.

I absolutly love the view over the lake. And I think it`s nice to make something out of the area for visitors to get to know the story about the seaserpent in Seljordsvatnet.
Though I think it was a bit overprized with this tower and I don`t see the big fuss about the whole arcitecture. They could have made such a lovely place there without spending so much money at it. But all in all a nice place to go for a little walk and relax.

(I am a local to this town and I hope that people visiting, enjoys the nature as much as I do :) )

Haven't seen the sculpture at night as per photo above but wonder about this. Who sat in his office and thought up an expensive piece of woodwork that I think spoils the lake view and historical heritage. (Apologies to any locals who think its a great input to this lovely 'old' village.) Climb inside and at each level see one view never 360. Interesting

A silly waste of time and damage to an otherwise splendid lake view!
This lake is magnificient, and mysterious by nature, and the legend of a sea monster is quite fascinating. But this Tower: TERRIBLE
