From Stegastein you get a beautiful view over the fjord below, Aurland town, and miles around. You can spot Stegen farm high up in the mountain across the fjord. Parking is free, but limited. Public restroom, but no benches or sit-down options. Highly recommend a trip here! Keep in mind the road up is very narrow, you find meeting points for cars to pass one another every few meters. In high season you will meet all sorts of vehicles, not all with good enough driving skills to back the vehicle to nearest M (meeting point).

Amazing structure and vantage point to see the full panorama of this beautiful fjord. Well worth taking the bus that leaves from Flam, with pick up point in Aurland.

We drove in our hire car from Flåm which took 25mins. Windy and narrow road but stunning route. The parking is free at the top and the view is incredible.

To all heading towards this lookout spot make sure weather is OK as it is highly possible that you see a little or no view at all. We had rainy day and we saw the fjord just for not more than 5 min this is very short to enjoy or make photos.

This place is just awesome. A must if you are here. If you come by car go there youtself. Yes the road is narrow but with a lot of places to meet. If you are on your way to Oslo continue this road. It id actually getting broader after the viewpoint! and it gives you a beatiful scenary. It takes 1 hour drive from the viewpoint to the other side of the tunnel but calculate with at least 1 1/2 hour because of the many stops you will probably make. Comparing driving 24 kilometers in a tunnel no doubt what is more attractive if you have an extra hour to spare.
