This is a spectacular drive. I went up ( from Aurland) at about 7:30 am and didn’t meet any cars until after the lookout. While the road is narrow in places, It has good guardrails and there are frequent spots to pass. Uphill traffic has...More

It was not our most favorite when we started driving up. We were a little apprehensive about the roads as we started driving a little late in the afternoon after missing the route from Stegastien lookout and ending up in Laerdals tunnel. But it didn't...More

This is the old road the crosses over from Aurland to Lærdal. The sights are spectacular, especially Stegastein with a magnificent view over the fjord. The road is unpaved and even in summer, there may be snow on parts of the road. The road is...More

This is an incredibly beautiful, inspiring and diverse drive. The scenery changes from plateaus and valleys to glaciers, waterfalls and alpine lakes. The road is windy and narrow as all roads are in Norway. Take your time, take photos, stop and admire what is around...More
