Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was fascinated by the place, the savors and the welcome of the people. I was amazed by the kindness and the views. I hope to come back soon.

Nice centro storico with a nice main square (no cars). Some of the building façades are interesting from an architectural point of view. Nice store where you can buy the famed Avezzano potatoes, salamis and great ham

Tagliacozzo is a fascinating place, thanks to the beauty of its historic centre, included in the list of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
Situated on a hill at the foot of the Simbruini mountains, on the border between Lazio and Abruzzo, it is surrounded by medieval walls which are still in good condition today. Within these walls, there is an intricate labyrinth of streets and narrow alleys that lead to small squares and ancient churches.
The town is of considerable historical importance; in 1268, it was the scene of the famous battle, one of the most significant events in Italian medieval history.
Today, it is a highly appreciated tourist destination that offers a variety of activities, including: guided visits to monuments, churches and ancient buildings, walks along the hiking trails to admire the nature of Marsica, tastings of typical products, such as wine, oil, cheeses and cured meats.
In short, it is a perfect destination for a unique experience.

Yet another pearl of this area. Walking in the alleys of the historic center, stopping to have a coffee in one of the bars in the central square of the village, reaching the highest part where there is the ducal palace, under renovation, and the theater is truly a pleasant experience. A real gem.

I stayed for a long time in the upper part of this which is - in my opinion - rightfully in the list of the most beautiful villages in Italy, and in fact, despite the inconvenience of the position, in an ancient neighborhood so perched as to be poorly connected with the lower areas of the historic center and (perhaps also for this reason) depopulated, if only for a few families who know each other and the occasional tourists, I can only endorse its inclusion among the "champions" of the picturesque. The upper part of the historic center itself is something unique even for Abruzzo, a series of ancient private houses and gardens connected almost exclusively by steps that open towards a suggestive panorama and the short, beautiful path of the friends in the nearby woods, not lacking secular churches. But it is in the "lower" historic center that you reach the top: the monumental Piazza dell'Obelisco is surrounded by residences from various eras with elegant loggias and columns, the Palazzo Ducale, although battered, is worth a visit, and in general the whole The area is dotted with churches and palaces that are more monumental than the size of the Marsican village would suggest. The picture ends with the marvelous banks of the Imel, which flows in a torrent surrounded by ancient buildings.

Tagliacozzo is a pretty town not far from Rome and you can easily visit it in a day. Walking, you will meet the Wall Fountain, the Parco della Rimembranza, Piazza dell'Obelisco, Porta Valeria, Porta San Rocco, the Church of San Francesco, the Doge's Palace, the Monastery of Saints Cosma and Damiano, the Talia Theatre but, very interesting is also the Sentiero dei Muli and then the Risorgenti dell'Imele Geological Park. Better to face the path at least with hiking shoes but in any case it is very feasible, at least in summer.

The town climbs up a mountainous side.
I walked it from the San Rocco gate to the little church, a difficult undertaking for those who are not used to walking uphill.
Unfortunately all the churches along the route were closed.
As you go up, the town becomes more characteristic.
