The Sunday night walking stret of Chiang Mai is just amazing. The entire city comes to life, and the size of the market and options are so full of variety, that you will not be able to cover all of it in one night. You...More

The sunday night market (which actually opens around 5pm) is huge with a variety of stalls mostly selling Thai silk, wood carvings and food with the tourists in mind. Most items are cheap and fuel the suspicion of a Chinese origin. The paucity of stalls...More

If you want to get a feel for a more traditional market in Thailand, then go to this one. So many little stalls where you can get souvenirs at better prices than in Bangkok or in the Night Bazaar. The food stalls here are brilliant...More

I would recommend doing this if you're in Chiang Mai on a Sunday night even though I found the experience a bit overwhelming. We went around 7 pm and it was incredibly crowded especially in the beginning. Tons and tons of tents of trinkets and...More

So many local products - it is good to support the producers and craftsmen. Crowds, colour and music. Traditional and contemporary. Lots of food options.

Since it is a "night" market I think it won't be open in the early afternoon. On the other hand, if you go before it opens there also won't be any crowds either.
