I had one of the best hacks ever at Divoky. It wasn't just that the countryside is so lovely to ride through - it started with the warm unpretentious welcome: the absolute patience while I sorted through boots, hat and so on - there was no sense of rushing or pushing. My horse and my guide were perfect: I felt safe and I felt I mattered as a person, as much as a paying client. It has to be one of the greatest places you could go - be in safe hands and have fun!

My daughter and I had a lovely hack with Pat. The horses were so well behaved, kind, well schooled and looked after us. We were well matched to the horses. Danny looked after me as although once experienced, I hadn't ridden for a year or two. Pat was very friendly and experienced and told us lots about the woodland we rode through, had lots of stories and a wealth of knowledge about wildlife and nature. Would definitely recommend. Probably the best riding school/hacking I've been to where the horses are clearly loved and well cared for. Thank you Pat.

We have been twice so far to Divoky Riding School near Shepton Mallet, Somerset. My 10 year old daughter did the 2 1/2 hour Saturday morning group and they absolutely loved it. It included various activities from mucking out, learning new riding skills with games on the ponies and grooming...they enjoyed every part and we will definitely be back for more on our next weekend visit.
Pat is a wonderful lady and all the staff were really friendly making it such a wonderful experience for the kids. Highly recommend and will probably try it out myself next time!!

This riding school has given me so much enjoyment. Pat Bishop the owner is an absolute legend with unbridled experience. Her knowledge, respect and compassion towards her horses is wonderful to experience. I look forward to every lesson and hack 5*

At the ripe old age of 36 I went for my first ever riding lesson. Beautiful horses and a brilliant session with the very knowledgable Pat. She was fantastic and put me at ease while explaining the history of horses as well as the actual riding itself. Would definitely go back

Both my 3 year old and I had lovely rides at this riding school. I picked it carefully, it was advertised as catering for all abilities. I am an experienced, confident rider, although very rusty, and wanted to ride a nice forward going horse rather than a trekking pony.
I was matched with a super horse (warm blood x sports horse) and had a lesson in the outdoor school with Tamara Langdon who was fantastic. She helped improve my very rusty riding, reminding me how I should be riding. I really liked her style, asking questions and giving great tips.
The team were also very patient with my 3 year old who normally loves being led round on a pony but was not on her best form. She was eventually persuaded by her Dad to hop on to a lovely steady little pony and came back from her 30 mins full of smiles and bouncing.
Fabulous well kept horses, great people and great yard, I wish I had one near me at home like this, I'd go every week.

This school is absolutely fantastic. The staff have amazing knowledge of their horses and definitely made me feel comfortable being a new rider.
Pat is a fantastic instructor and put me at ease straight away. I would definitely reccomend this riding school. My young daughter also loves visiting the horses and is always made to feel welcome. I can't wait to come back !

I have owned and competed my own horses for years and ridden at different riding establishments around the world. As far as safety and care of the rider and horse go, this stables was outstanding. We were on holiday with friends, so were unfamiliar with the area and found a BHS yard to enjoy the local area on horse back. I was with a friend who hadn't been in the saddle for 20 years, and was keen for her to have a good experience, given she hadn't ridden for so long and understandably had some nerves. We weren't disappointed and had a great time. The horses we were given were tailored to our abilities, as was the ride. The owner was extremely thorough in making sure we were appropriately kitted out and reviewed our riding experience, offering to lead my friend if she felt worried at any point. We were taken on a lovely tour of ancient woodland and a local quarry with lots of information about the local area. Whilst we paid for an hour, the ride ended up being slightly longer. The staff there were professional and obviously happy, as were the horses. If you are looking for a horse experience, this is certainly a safe and fun place to go. We would go back. Thank you.
