Full day improver lesson with Geoff
Had a fantastic full day improver adult lesson with Geoff today. It was brilliant, well-paced and lots of fun! Geoff was full of great ways to explain techniques and made everything really enjoyable! Started half way on the main slope and gradually worked up to the top. Took everyone at their own pace and gave different drills depending on ability. Filled me with loads of confidence and the best bits were Geoff’s dad jokes throughout the day! What a guy! 🫶🙌. Can’t wait to re-book and refine my skiing skills ⛷️

    Great experience
I booked a level 1 ski lesson for my partners birthday. We both did the session together with Paul and Ewan. The session was so much fun and the instructors were great, Paul was very enthusiastic. You also get a free drink in the bar at the end which was a nice little bonus and chance to have a chat with the instructors. We wanted to go to Nando’s after but it was very busy and the wait was a good half an hour so we had to give that one a miss. But we did go to the cute little sweet shop in the middle for a little treat. The staff there were so so lovely! We will definitely going back to take the kids there for a treat.

    Chill Factore Snowboarding Lesson
My first snowboarding experience was indeed a memorable one and I can’t wait to go back. I attended the Level 1 lesson and the session was ran by Len, clearly a fantastic instructor getting our group to tackle level 2 activities in our first lesson, we all came on leaps and bounds very quickly. The lesson covered the vital foundations of snowboarding, with some fun tips and tricks thrown in. Len even taught us how to Ollie at the end of the session. We all had a Would highly recommend booking in for a lesson, especially if you’re like me and have been putting it off for a while. I’ll be back soon for my level 2!

    Fantastic first lesson
This was my son first snowboarding lesson and it went so well. We had a guy called Len and he was brilliant, really patient and so enthusiastic. My son loved it and we’ve already booked back in with the same instructor.

    Great beginner lesson!
Had a private beginner snowboarding lesson with my brother and cousin with CC, and really impressed with the experience! CC was very good at showing us the basics (my brother and I had never been before) and making sure we were all kept up to speed in order to progress together. She was patient with all of us and explained things really well, making sure we all understood. We are booking for the next level lesson in a couple of weeks time, and really looking forward to it!

Brilliant group ski lesson improver day, definitely recommend!
I came with my dad for a 5-hour ski improver lesson, and we highly recommend Chill Factore! Having both skiied before (dad longer ago than me) we found the improver lesson was tailored to us really well. There were four of us in total in the lesson (which will vary depending on the day etc), and we were fortunate to get two instructors as one was training. I cannot thank Stu L (and Jason) enough for their advice and support in teaching us. They worked on the group's confidence, as well as giving individual pointers on technique. By the end of the day, we were confidently skiing from the top of the main slope on our own. Lunch was included, as was a hot/cold drink after the lesson, and all in all, I can't recommend the course enough!! Thank you so much again, we will be back soon to get a lift pass!

Amazing teaching on park by Robyn!
Went to my first park day ever and I was so very nervous. I seen one of the staff there in a high vis called Robyn who spent a lot of time listening to me ramble on and gave me some great advice and coaching. I have progressed so much from her advice and would like to give a massive thank you to Robyn one of the team members snowboarding on the slope. She was so kind and helpful and she's a credit to the chill factor team!

Level 2 snowboarding with Robyn L
I recently had the best experience with the instructor Robyn L for a level 2 snowboarding session. She was so patient, helpful and explained everything well and clearly. I was quite nervous to start but by the end I was so much more confident and I believe that was due to Robyn and her coaching skills. Robyn is extremely knowledgeable and skilful at not only snowboarding but at coaching/teaching. Thank you Robyn for being so helpful, it really made the experience fun and made me book another session as soon as I got home!

Great level 5 Snowboarding lesson with Len. I was the only one booked in so was even better having a 1-2-1. Len was friendly and gave great advice and tips throughout. I left the session feeling confident and accomplished. Thanks Len!

    Amazing staff. Amazing experience
I’ve had 3 snowboarding lessons now each with Fi, Jim M and Brad all three of them were mint, they told you what you could improve on and what went wrong but then also at the same time told you what you were doing right. You could also have a laugh and a joke with all 3 which relaxes you more on your lesson and more fun. Would 100% recommend! Top lads

I went on Sunday for a Snowboard lesson with Stuart, he is the best instructor you could ever have. I really enjoy my time and I love it, for sure will coming back for more. Hope get him again he has so many patient and he really teach very well.
My one star goes to your Guest Service never in my life I felt like a was doing them a favour to be there. When I arrive they were talking to each other, after they finish talking start serving us. We told them: its our first time here we do not know where to go or what to do. They look like a little annoying that they have to explain us what to do. I asked the ladies do you still doing clothing and gloves they told yes. And then they say just go through, my friend went back to the car she forgot the wallet so could pay for clothes and gloves. After a couple of minutes I got lost dont know where to go so I was standing infront of the clothing waiting for someone. Thanks god a lady (dont know if she works there but she really help me) she came asking if I need help, told her about the situation with the clothes. She inmediately apologies and told me for now you dont do clothing for the moment she keep apologies, then she asked me if i have with me some warming clothes and some gloves(something that the reception didnt asked me) show her what I got. She looked and me and told me I was fine with what i was wearing she told me that she went already and was only using a hoodie. I show her my gloves she said they are fine will get a little bit wet but will do the work and if in any case Im feeling too cold always can get one pair in the reception for 6£. She asked me if I know where I was going, told her no clue, she look at me give me a big smile and say: good follow me I take you, she explain where toilets where if I need to used the lockers and keep going until the back where i got my helmet, board and boots and until then she still with me when I was ready and waiting for my instructor she left. Never got the opportunity to get her name what a shame she was really nice I hope she really works there that even in her day off still helping people, for sure she is not English didnt have a british maybe Italian or even Spanish not sure Im really bad catching others people accents. If she really works there can you tell her, that I really appreciate her help and thank her so much. Hope see in her around next time

Dear Lizzie, I do hope you are good and well. Thank you for taking the time and trouble to write this review. While it's not a pleasing review to read, I do appreciate your letting me know the details of your visit and therefore allowing me / us to progress, grow, and do better following reading the feedback. Firstly, you've said that Stuart, your instructor, looked after you so well that you're keen for more! This is great to read that his enthusiasm and passion has rubbed off on you. Stuart does receive lots of positive feedback and he's always delighted to read what a great and positive impact he's had on his guests. Thank you for passing on the positive vibes here - it's so very much appreciated. Thereafter (in the review) you've let us know that your immediate arrival at Chill Factore was what let us, and you, down. I'm so very sorry that we didn't get this right. I have picked up with Edie, our Guest Services Manager, who is looking further into this for us to allow us to pick up progressively and developmentally with those who didn't meet the same standards as the 5-Star service you received from Dacil and Stuart. In contrast with this regrettable and disappointing first reception, I'm so very pleased that you were looked after so fabulously by the next team member you encountered. I've not had chance yet to confirm this with her, but looking at the rotas for Sunday 12th I suspect you were looked after by Dacil. I'll check in with her and pass on the positive appreciation for us both - she'll really appreciate it. Thank you so much for visiting, and again for leaving us this review, and we do hope to see you again soon for more. All the best, Tom Roffey Head of Operations

We've recently been taking our son, who is 5, for private ski lessons at the Chill Factore. We had initially taken him to group lessons at a dry ski slope which was a good starting point for him.

Since taking him to the Chill Factore we've seen his skiiing improve greatly and he really enjoys learning on 'real' snow.

The cost private lessons can mount up but I can't recommended them enough for progressing quickly on the slopes.

We've had 3 different instructors (Abbi, Paul and John) - each have made it and extremely fun for our son, which is the most important thing, but they've also taught him some very important basics which has hadn't learnt in the previous 10 lessons on the dry slopes.

We will be continuing to take him for private lessons but there are group sessions if you want your child to be mixed in with other kids.

Hello there, Thanks so much for taking the time and trouble to write us this review - it's a pleasure to read and it's really appreciated. It's brill to read that your 5 year old son is making such good progress since his first lessons on dry slope, especially that he's taking so much fun from the experiences with his instructors and that he's learning new things every lesson.. Wonderful. Noted regarding the costs - I'm sure we've discussed Kids Snow School and Memberships with you? Drop us a note at info@chillfactore.com if you'd like us to give you a call to discuss : ) Thanks so much again for the positive review, and we look forward to seeing you both again soon. We did the beginners ski 5 hour course today which was brilliant. Really good value for money we thought. £125 each for a 5 hour day which consisted of 2 hours training on the slopes learning basics then a 1 hour break with hot lunch and drink included then another 2 hours on the slopes and another drink at the end. The hire of waterproof coat and pants and were included in the price alongside the use of the boots and skis. Really tiring day but feel like we achieved a lot and managed to go half way up the big slope. We felt like we got a lot of 1 to 1 as the group was only very small (4 of us). Tansy (our instructor) was really patient with us and taught us a lot - thank you!

Hi Nicholas, Hope you're having a successful week so far. Thanks for visiting us this week for a ski day lesson with Tansy M. It can be tiring for sure, using muscles in a way that you're not used to, but absolutely a really impressive achievement for you making such progress - nicely done! We do hope that we'll see you on the snow again soon for the next stage of the progression journey and we'll pass on the positivity to Tansy. All the best Tom Roffey Head of Operations

I travelled with my husband and 8 year-old son to use a voucher purchased before the first lockdown (thank you to Chill Factore for honouring this and keeping in regular contact to advise that it was still valid). The one hour visit was perfect to have repeated 'goes'on the doughnuts, luge and sled slopes. We already had ski gear, but hiring trousers for our son was easy and reasonably priced (definitely necessary as it is very cold). The helmets were provided for free. The whole experience was well organised with enthusiastic and polite team members - special mention to Ahmed and Niamh who, despite probably working on the slopes for much of the day, always had a smile for the clients. A great experience, will definitely return with our S.A family later in the year.

Decided to go to the Chill Factore to improve my snow boarding ability. Booked a 1 hour 50 minute 1 to 1 lesson for £99.00. The lesson was tailored to my needs and ability, my instructor James Pearson was excellent, he was really observant and quickly pin pointed the areas I could improve. James was very encouraging throughout the lesson and I would highly recommend as I personally left the lesson feeling hugely more confident and extremely pleased with the progression I had made.
This was my first trip to Chill Factore and thoroughly enjoyed it. I would high recommend this facility and also the great service provided by James. I'm looking forward to returning again in the near future.

Thanks, Tony 👍🏂

Had a private beginner lesson with Garry this morning. He managed to get me from complete novice on the beginner slope to completing level 4 turns on the main slope in 1 hour. His instructing style was brilliant, he was patient, informative and really helped me to understand techniques needed to be safe on the slope. I had so much fun as well, I can’t recommend him enough as an instructor and I will definitely be requesting him again for my future ski lessons. Chill Factore itself is also brill, the equipment was good quality and everything was clean / covid safe.

In the words of Jim our instructor, the all day ( 5hr) snowboard lesson is the real zero to hero course! It was crazy to see how much all of us managed to improve throughout the day. Starting with the basics then progressing at what seemed to be the perfect pace we were soon all making our way down the slopes independently. Jim tailored each skill/ challenge to meet people individual needs producing a wonderful friendly learning environment regardless of your ability. I 100% would recommend the longer lessons giving loads of time to practice with each step building on what you just practiced onto the next. Was also plenty of opportunity to rest and have a break if required

I needed to learn to snowboard for an upcoming holiday, and luckily enough the Chill Factore is the perfect place to do that.

I booked the 2 hour Beginner Level 1 Snowboard lesson with James M, pretty sure he went by the name Jim. He was a great teacher, very professional yet relaxed style of teaching that I responded to really well. He taught me the very basics, having never stepped foot onto a snowboard he made sure I knew exactly what I needed to do to build my confidence.
He's a top guy, and had me making turns with confidence after only a couple of hours on the snow. I would highly recommend lessons to anyone interested, its a brilliant day out and left me eager to return and improve.

I had another full day lesson about 4 weeks after my first ever lesson, this time with Andy Day. Again, a brilliant instructor who took me and two others from the beginner slope up to the main slope. He recognised where our mistakes were immediately, and rectified them so that we could start more advanced exercises.
By the end of the day (5 hour day with a lunch break), I was gliding down the slope with much more control of my board.

I would recommend this place to anyone.

I went to the Chill Factore this weekend to continue with some skiing and snowboarding my sons and I are having. I have a really complex booking, with a mixture of junior snowboarding, adult snowboarding and adult skiing lessons - with all us at different stages.

As a result I couldn't use the self service machines, and went to the counter to seek help. This was my first interaction with Rachel H. She was bright, cheerful, and helped sort out the mass of tickets to make sure I had the right ones for the day and knew where I was going and what I was doing.

My girlfried and her son also had a booking, and were brushing up on their skiing. Having realised we'd been a bit optimistic putting him on a level 5 course (the clue being when her son was about to set off for his skiing lesson without any skis as he'd forgotten they were necessary!) we needed to do a quick switch onto a level 3 lesson. Rachel again got landed with us, and with what was now trademark good cheer and efficiency, set off to try to get things sorted. (This was about 10:25, with the lesson starting at 10:30. She persevered, and switched us over so the lesson could go ahead and away we went.

Still not tired of harassing Rachel, we realised that the son was going to be on his own while we both had a ski pass for 11:30 after his lesson. (The original plan was that he'd get a pass for the same hour, but with now only level 3 under his belt officially he wouldn't be allowed on the snow. I should add that my girlfriend and son were up from London, so popping back another day wasn't really an option.) Rachel again took charge, and talked to her manager to ask if we would be allowed to let him just use the bottom part of the slope. The manager agreed (given that he could technically ski, but just hadn't been through the full program at Chill Factore. This is what we did, and the day carried on without a hitch.

The level of quick thinking, desire to solve customer problems, and maintain an unfalteringly cheery disposition was a joy to behold, and I take my hat off to Rachel. She's an asset to Chill Factore, and turned a day from a potential disaster to one we all thoroughly enjoyed.

As an addenda to this, I had a level 6 lesson with Rob later on in the day, and I feel obliged to mention how good he was, too. He was an immensely competent tutor, recognising individual areas of attention for each of us in the group. Despite him not necessarily telling me anything I hadn't already been told on previous lessons, he was able to explain them in a way that "joined everything up". Subtle tweaks in my positioning and attitude have really made me feel like my skiing has jumped up from the couple of hours I spent with Rob. He's got a great, compassionate manner (helping a younger lad who was getting frustrated in a highly positive and professional way) and then even taking us for a hot drink afterwards to discuss what we should focus on next.

An altogether unforgettable example of great customer service and great tuition. What more could you ask for?

I came to Chill Factore for the first time to learn snowboarding during beginners level 1-4 course. It took me from 0 to hero within a day! This is thanks to our instructors - Stuart P and Cecee. Before my lesson I had no knowledge how to even handle bindings and I ended up being able to ride down the smaller slope on my own doing various types of turns. Stuart and Cecee were patient and encouraging. They took time to explain and show everything and gave a lot of reassurance along the way. It was brilliant experience I'd recommend to anyone interested in learning to ride a snowboard.
