Lots of area to explore and enjoy. We were caught during a downpour, as usual it is warmer in the water than out (no lightening) we set in the water waiting for the downpour to pass and was rewarded with a double rainbow. We rode...More

I’ve heard many reasons for all the Dead Sea animals covering the beaches here, from all of it, sounds like it’s from humans spraying chemicals and dumping them in the water and it’s making it to the ocean . On a small scale it has...More

This is usually a very nice and historic point on Sanibel Island. Due to a RED TIDE the last week of July, 2018, there were dead fish along the beach, stunk to high heaven, we encountered 2 live SNAKES on the walk path, and plenty...More

We arrived at the high tide was coming in. The beach had lots of the very small shells, such as wentletraps. The red tide is affecting all Sanibel beaches, even the far east ones. The lighthouse is a landmark, but not all that impressive. Not...More

My family and I used to vacation on Sanibel/Captiva. I haven't been in 11 years, so I thought we would go this summer. The red tide and pollution from Lake Okeechobee has ruined all these beaches. Just look at it on the satellite imagery from...More

This was our first stop on Sanibel. The beach was beautiful! There was shade of you desired. The fishing pier wasn't too crowded and was very active. Fish were being caught left and right.

This is more than just a beach! Here on Sanibel’s east end you’ll find a shady and scenic 32-acre park & lighthouse complete with fishing pier, picnic area & showers. Parking is convenient ($5 per hour/min 1 hour), restrooms are available, and a boardwalk nature...More
