- Fee M1 contributionBest day out everThis was the best day out ever for my husband and myself. Bought for his 60th birthday. He loves wolves. Dee and Daniel were brilliant host. Their knowledge and information was excellent. The wolves are young but very calm around people. They Interacted with us and let us touch them. Lots of photo opportunities and even got to feed them some treats that were supplied by Dee. Was not scared of them at all. Will definitely be back to see them againVisited February 2023Written 26 February 2023
- Michelle RSouthport, United Kingdom9 contributionsAmazing experience we will never forget!Absolutely wonderful experience this Sunday meeting the wolves and foxes, with my eldest children. Dee and Dan are so welcoming, knowledgeable, and you can see how much they care for their amazing animals. The walk was so incredible, being with the wolves was so much better than I imagined, so many cuddles, and the howling was magical! The foxes were just the sweetest. I can wholeheartedly recommend to anyone. I know we will be going back again at some point in the future for sure! We all interacted with the wolves throughout the walk and had the opportunity to learn so much whilst giving them all plenty of fuss! Felt so privileged to have spent some time amongst the pack! - Robyn2 contributionsWorld Class Customer Service 🌏🐺I’d really like to take the time to commend Dee and the company on their customer service. The understanding and empathy I have received has been outstanding. My father and I (who was visiting us from Australia last year) were due to attend the experience in October last year. Unfortunately Dad and I both caught Covid for the first time (because of course we did), right before our experience was due. Dee was so kind and agreed to rearrange our experience for April this year as Dad was returning to the UK again. Dee called me on the morning we were due to attend to confirm the time. I feel awful about this next part because it’s not like me, but I completely forgot I was due to attend because not only was dad unable to make it over due to health issues, but I have gone and messed up my knee and awaiting surgery! Once again Dee told me not to worry and that because we have had a really rough time lately with life stuff that we could attend once we are back on track. I really can’t explain what this has meant to me. I work for one of the worlds largest Tech companies and customer service is at the forefront of the work we do. So naturally I seek this is my own experience and Dee has absolutely gone above and beyond my expectations (and I haven’t even seen the wolves yet!). Dee - again, thank you. I will be in touch soon after surgery. We WILL get to see you and the wolves that I have read are so cared for. Thanks again and again. This was without doubt one of the best things we have ever done. The walk with the wolves was so beautiful and just a privilege, Dee and Daniel were so knowledgeable about their subject it was just a great experience. Todd and Finny the foxes were brilliant as well, another fantastic experience. Will be back and can't recommend it highly enough.

I bought the walking with wolves & fox experience as a surprise for my husband as wolves are his favourite animal and he absolutely loved it!
Both Dee & Daniel are super knowledgable about the Wolves they care for and their passion for what they do was admirable. It was so interesting to see the pack behaviour and the roles & individual characters of each of the wolves. The location is stunning set up in the hills of the Lake District and it was great to see the wolves in a more natural space.
From walking with the wolves to howling with the wolves to meeting the two little shy foxes - the whole experience was amazing & I would definitely recommend it if you are a wolf/animal fan :)

My partner had arranged the visit to the Predator Experience as a gift whilst we were down in the Lakes. As a professional photographer, I was expecting the opportunity to take some great images of the wolves, as the experience had been sold to my partner with communication with Dee. My partner had asked what would be the better option, and she was sold the experience based on the advice given.
On the day, we arrived to find we were in a group of 11 and because they had a new puppy, only two wolves would walk with the group. Normally they would be off the lead but, because of the new puppy, we were told this wouldn't now happen. So, we now just walked around with them on leads, so taking any amazing images was now not happening there with so many people in the way. Next we walk to the pen where they would try and get them to howl, which again wasn't happening because of the puppy. Again, no images. We then get to feed them a few small dog treats whilst they take a couple photos with my partners phone.
Next we wander to the fox pen, where we stand for 10 - 15 minutes whilst Dee threw chicks for them to eat. It was hardly a photographers dream. £40 each for this.
When I first raised this by email and messenger, I had no response, so I tried different emails to get one. Eventually I did and I was told that I had pretty much ruined her trip to Prague with her mother because all she could think about for the four days was me daring to raise an issue thqt we felt let down by.
I was also told that had I asked on the day, she would have tried to help me to get images. That I am sorry to say, I doubt would have happened. The checking of her watch was clear that time was tight as another group was due.
Would I recommend the experience? If you want wander round a field with hybrid wolves, fill your boots. If you want a photographic experience, do NOT waste your money.
Customer care is very important, and in my own line of work, which is also dealing with groups on trips/experiences, I totally understand and get how it works.
I had said I wouldn't use online reviews, but after the way this has been handled, I feel I should.
You can't sell a product and then provide a watered down version of it. If you engage in conversation with someone, take on what they are looking for and provide that, don't give them something that isn't close, you should do the right thing and refund them. Where they did eventually refund £50 out of £330, that was a token gesture only. We didn't expect a full refund and we didn't ask for one. What should have been offered was a refund on one person.
Being accused of trying to hurt their business by reviewing them is low when they will happily take your money.
Much as it pains me to do this, I feel I am backed into a corner.
I have the comments from them in screenshots, from my partners initial contact, through to messages from them about me trying to hurt thier business by saying I will post a review.
I will gladly share those messages should it come to it.

We had a great time here and will be returning ASAP, the staff were very friendly, instructive and made the experience feel safe.
The wolves are gorgeous, friendly and it was awesome to see their individuals personalities shine through, make no mistake, they are not just big dogs!
Highly recommend this to any animal lover.

This was one of the most memorable experiences of my life, and my wife thought so as well. It's not just a turn up and look at the wolves type of experience, this is the real deal. From the 'formal' introductions with the wolves, (it reminded me of a line-up at a wedding where all the guests are individually greeted), to walking with them, and hearing them howl, Wow, that howl with stay with me for a very long time.
Our guides for the visit, (I'm sorry if I get your names wrong) were Daniel, and Dee. Their absolute passion for these wonderful animals shines through right from the beginning, and their knowledge is great to listen to.
My wife has 'loved' wolves for her entire life, and to bring her to this place was magical.
There are photo opportunities every minute you are in the company of these great animals.
There is a hill to walk up, but it is taken at a very leisurely pace, and one of the wolves even helped pull my wife up the hill.
I would like to wish The Predator Experience every best wish for the future and both my wife and I will be back soon, hopefully sometime next year.
On a more down to earth note, some things that made the experience extra special were;
There was only eight people in our group, which is perfect and makes the experience more personal.
The 'Intro' talk was clear, easy to understand, and delivered in a humorous but professional way.
Most of all, you are given the time in the company of these fantastic animals to enjoy them really close-up.
Thank you Predator Experience for a magical time with you.
All best wishes and hopes for the future, you deserve it.

I’m at a time in life where I value experiences rather than stuff and this was an extraordinary experience. We were a group of 10 with 4 wolves and we all got to spend time with the wolves. We walked them on leads and spent time with them off their leads. They are amazingly intelligent and gentle animals. We had two guides who talked about wolf pack structure and how each wolf has their own job in the pack it was just an amazingly experience. They are planning a visitor centre with accommodation so eventually you could seem to sleep with the wolves we’ll definitely be back when the accommodation is completed. An experience not to be missed

Hi GSDK9. Thanks for taking the time to write a review. We are so pleased you had a nice visit.
On the experience we do try to find synergy between wolves and their evolution into dogs, so people can relate to wolves positively, and maybe understand their own dogs behaviour a little better as a bonus. All canid species display similar body language, including our foxes, which are not as close has dogs to wolves.
Our guests are only here for an hour, it wouldn't be possible to see full range of wolf behaviour in that time. The ethology of wolf is a huge topic, and the experience is designed as a snap shot of behaviour, which is all that is only ever going to be possible in that time.
It was lovely to meet you, and hope maybe we will see you again one day.

Hi. My 10 year old daughter is slightly obsessed with wolves. Do you offer anything to this age group? Thanks.
Hi 604jonn As much as we love encouraging conservationists of the future, there is a minimum age restriction of 16yrs for this activity. We'd love to meet her when she is older though! Kindest regards Predator Experience

Hi I have booked the wolf walking and fox encounter for next year. How difficult is the property to find? I have seen reviews that people have had trouble finding the place and I don't want to turn up too late. Is there any pointers that would help us locate the property that this takes place ?

Are these wolves or a breed of wolf dog. Do you allow children to accompany adults.

Hi
They are a hybrid cross between a grey wolf and a mountain dog they are the nearest thing that you can get to a pure wolf
They are absolutely stunning only small groups are aloud each time
Not too sure about the minimum age for children though

Is the walking part of the experience worth the extra money as opposed to just the encounter option
Hi sugardann. Thanks for your message. The Wolf and Fox Encounter is s quite different to the Walking with Wolves. Both are great experiences. There is more interaction on the Walking with Wolves because you are holding the leashes, and because of this we borrow your camera to take a team photo of you holding Maska and Kajika. There is still opportunity to interact with Maska and Kajika on the Wolf and Fox, just not so much. On the Wolf and Fox the handlers hold the leashes and there is no team photo, but a longer period of time to take photos of them yourself, there is less photo time on the Walking with Wolves but still sufficient for most people, the photographers like Wolf and Fox. They also howl on the Walking with Wolves, but not on Wolf and Fox. It really just depends what you are into. If mobility is an issue the Wolf and Fox is definitely the better option. Hope this helps. Predator Experience

Hi,I'm interested in booking both the wolf and the fox encounter, I know on the wolf encounter you get to stroke the wolves but do you get to stroke the foxes too? Thanks
Dee A
Cartmel, UK2 contributions
Hi Rpn7 Thanks for your question. I'm afraid the foxes don't like people they don't know well stroking them, and for their welfare we wouldn't ask them to tolerate something they were not absolutely comfortable with. The wolf hybrids you can stroke. They are not compromised in any way, but they don't really understand the purpose of stroking, but they don't mind at all, they just ignore it. We would love to meet you and introduce you to our our team. By all means get in touch, my number is 07733366748. Regards Dee

Hi Please could you advise on the following.
What is the the walk like is it flat or climbing?
How close to the wolves is allowed.(love wolves)
What is the minimum age for the walk with wolves is 15 too young?
thanks

The walk itself is not more that 1 1/2 miles and the majority of that is around a reservoir so fairly flat but undulating, the walk up to the reservoir is a well defined agricultural track used by landrovers and tractors, the walk is not strenuous and the speed is that of the slowest member of the walking party. Before the walk you have to allow the wolves to accept your sent so that you become part of the pack, there was a 15 year old on the same walk that I did and there were no problems because of the wolves sent smelling before the walk they became part of the pack as well. During the walk you have control of one of the leads on the wolves, each of the 2 wolves have twin leads, one for the expert and one for the person on the walking experience, everyone has the opportunity to walk the wolves. The wolves can be stroked but not overly petted because the are still wild animals but tolerate some stroking. I hope this helps and that you enjoy your experience. Me and my family thoroughly enjoyed it.

Really can't decide between "walking with wolves" and the "wolf and fox experience" is there anyone that's done both that could recommend what one is the best?

We did the wolf walk plus saw the foxes, it's not listed on their site but if you get in touch they'll be able to arrange it.
I loved both parts, but in spite of looking forward to seeing the foxes a little more beforehand, it was the wolves which were the stars of the day for me and the rest of my group. (the humans are pretty awesome too!) :)
