Horne's Ferry crosses from Wolfe Island, Ontario to Cape Vincent, New York. It seems to cross quite regularly but makes crossings more as needed rather than being completely on a schedule. The prices seem to be $2.00 to walk on or $15.00 for a car...More

The Capt. we had seemed barely able or willing to communicate. When asked simple and straight forward questions (e.g., How much do we owe you? or, Will my car/trailer combo fit on the ferry?) we received barely intelligible mumbles and grunts. Of course they do...More

This was an excellent choice to cross into the US from south eastern Ontario. The small ferry is quick and efficient and will accommodate a small class B motorhome. The captain is punctual and a very efficient parking director to arrange the vehicles on the...More

Gets you there and brings you back safely. Saves time and mileage. A fun experience. Ditto the ferry from Wolfe Island to Kingston, which is free.

I took the Wolfe Islander ferry and the Horne Ferry to cross into the US by whimsy, it seemed like a novel way to travel to the US. Both ferries were fantastically efficiently run. The Horne Ferry is privately operated and the 2 gentlemen running...More

This family operated, seasonal drive-on ferry offers a pleasant experience for anyone undertaking international travel. Border staff on the Canadian and US sides seem more easy-going than their bridge counterparts. The small number of travellers are processed very quickly.

Horne's Ferry is fast and convenient. I highly recommend. Price per car is less than gas for overland route. Walk on rate for day trips is a bargain! Ferry is seasonal, privately owned and operated by the Horne family for over 200 years. If they...More

On 10/16/2017, checked the ferry information via wolfeisland dot com and we were excited about taking the less traveled route back to the U.S. After waiting 45 minutes for the next ferry from Kingston to Marysville, taking the 20 minute ferry ride, then driving across...More

Ferry crew are nice people who made our trip from Cape Vincent to Wolfe Island a breeze. It was our first time driving onto a ferry, let alone one so small, but the crew put us at ease and made the trip fun. We went...More
