Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The atmosphere in the harbor-area is nice during summer (whether you come by land og sea), but to mee the greedy parking payment nearly destroys the joy. It is unheard of in a small Danish town. All over (almost) you need to pay between 6 and 24 hours. An if you forget og get over time, you risk a fine of more than 100 Euro.

I won’t come back. There are many other towns and attractions nearby without risk of high fines.

Although we got here at a pretty summer day it was ok with people. We liked the small port with its docks, restaurants and the few shops. Nice to stroll around, always something happening here (also at ferry port).

Always a great place for spending a few hours, especially on weekends or holidays. Don't miss out on the Sand sculpture festival or go and see the shops with the glass viking ships and the shop with wooden furniture.

If you're driving to Hundested, it's best to come a little early, or consider there might be a little walking in the beginning of your small adventure.

By the way, don't trust Google Maps on this one. They're street-level tour of Nordre Beddingsvej is outdated by more than a few years. The harbor is a bit built up with a brewery, restaurants, and a bit of arts and crafts. There's a beach, mini golf, ice cream. Have fun.

I loved this harbour. I felt it was the centre point of the town. The town centre was really quiet, yet here it was buzzing! I walked around all the boats, and I also sat at the beautiful beach which had very clear sand and a lovely bathing area.

Very nice to walk along the port harbour, however, the beach part is not easily accessible :( nice for a stroll after lunch though

Great location for a walk around the harbor while the baby is sleeping. Plenty of choose for restaurants. Parking was not hard to find even though is was a sunny Sunday.

We were here traveling through for the ferry in February, a typical Danish grey day and getting darker very early in the afternoon.
The only places open were the polsaman (like a German bratwurst stand) and the lotto kiosk. Everything, but everything around the harbour was closed.
Much to my disappointment even the brewery (Halsnaes brew house).
We came back to Denmark in early May to see family and took a day out to return to Hundested this week.
Everything, but everything was open and the place was buzzing.
Plus points........
The place was clean, tidy and the harbour has a number of plus points, the main one for me being the brewery, where we ate a very slow lunch.
Bad points....
None really, try to avoid the lunchtime period where we counted three coaches of elderly blue-rinsers dawdling around the place on their organized tours. Just after lunch and in early afternoon is good, everything will still be open and it will be more tranquil.
Also bear in mind that it is a working harbour with workshops and boatyards doing their stuff, and the very frequent ferries too. If you are planning a day out here, an afternoon would be plenty of time and there are 3x cruise liners due to dock here this summer for day-stays, so research what days they are docking!
A good half a day can be fully occupied on foot here, with the Main Street of the town and shops only a 5 minute walk away.
Highly recommended if you are in the north Zealand/west Zealand area already but a bit far (80+Kms from Copenhagen).
The brewery on the quayside is to be more highly recommended too, whoever is brewing knows his beers!

I've been to Hundested harbour a few times. Last time I went with a friend. I'd say it's a nice place to go for a short trip with your family since there are slow paced and cosy activities in the area. However not a lot to do when you're just 2 young girls. The shops at the harbour are very specific and nothing special, most of it was artisan goods etc. What we could do, and did, was enjoy a beer by the sea and some nice seafood.

There's also some good coffee places nearby. We made the mistake of coming on a Sunday so most things were closed, but we could still get something to eat and drink by the harbour, but most of the actual city was completely empty, like a ghost town.

This is hardly a large town, even by Danish standards, but nonetheless a great deal of effort has gone into creating a spotless and entertaining environment. Parking for camping, huts for rent, minigolf, artisans, microbreweries, clothes shops, ice cream, sand sculptures. .. you name it. Definitely worth a visit.
