Welcome to Parrots in Paradise, we are a not for profit parrot sanctuary...

Welcome to Parrots in Paradise, we are a not for profit parrot sanctuary situated in the heart of the Glass House Mountains, QLD. The Goals and philosophy of parrots in paradise is to educate people about the intelligence and needs of parrots, both physical and mental, through entertainment and interaction with our birds. Don't miss out on interacting with the birds at our Hobby Home Show, or for a personal walk through with one of our experts, and of course a cup of tea or coffee in the beautiful gardens. This is not only a place to visit but we also breed and provide boarding facilities for your birds and any advice or problems don't hesitate to ask. Please phone us to make a booking and find out more. Bookings are ESSENTIAL in order for you not to miss out! We have more than three hundred fifty birds on the property. Some are rescued, some are surrendered, some just unwanted birds, and there are others who are extremely unusual, incredibly rare or very valuable. We do our very best to see that all these birds have a partner, and allow them to breed naturally.

A very large group was there day visited which they knew were coming yet short staff, so very unorganised and show was delay in starting but show was very good, afterwards look at the birds in cages and they have a walk in aviary but was disappointed in this seem a lot better. The show was the highlight for us.

Parrots in Paradise is not your average tourist attraction. It is part non-profit animal shelter, part boarding kennel for parrots, part display case for some amazing birds. It is a most genuine establishment supported by volunteer staff and well worth a visit for an hour or two. Our host Mark was very generous with his time and sharing his knowledge... More

We started by thinking it's just a small house.....but the witty parking signs just outside should have been a clue. We entered, paid our fee which was $17pp and we were given a small bag of broken biscuit.....and then the fun started. Robert was our guide and he was so knowledgable on each and every individual parrot and there were... More

.... but I'm afraid that I just don't see the value here. $25 per person for a family of four is, I feel, a little steep for this one even given that the parrot show - performed by Alexandrine and Eclectus parrots - is very funny, and you can tell that there is real passion for the birds here. The... More

This seemingly unassuming parrot sanctuary is much bigger than it looks. We had a guided tour with Mark (whom he runs the sanctuary, along with his lovely wife) and we had an absolute ball that we let time getaway. We weren't disappointed and the $15 on entry fee was more than well worth it. You can tell that they care... More

Kids really enjoyed the parrot show, heaps of different varieties of parrots to see and you can tell the owners and volunteers really care for them. Glad we dropped by.

Thoroughly enjoyed our recent visit to the Centre! It proved to be a delightful afternoon. It was an impromptu visit but fortunately the owner was able to show us through and gracious enough to do so! Will probably return for one of the future shows and take a friend or grandchildren. Well worth the visit!

I have just visited Parrots in Paradise with a tour group, and right from the start it was the most interesting and entertaining experience on the whole tour. The parrots were so intelligent and the lady who was their trainer had such a wonderful bond with each and every one of them. She was also entertaining in herself. The show... More

Wow, I've been passing this place since it opened and never knew it existed. The Bird Sanctuary is a 'not for profit' privately owned Bird Park in a natural bush setting. It's full of cheeky Parrots ["Hello Darling"] who are obviously happy and well cared for. The Parrot show is very informative and their preformance a delight. The hour+ went... More

I recently spent 2 months living and working as a volunteer at Parrots in Paradise and I would recommend it to any animal lover out there. The sanctuary is locally run and not for profit and relies on all the help it can get yet the birds are extremely well looked after and impossible not to fall in love with.... More
