Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Visited this place on a saturday morning and we were pleasantly surprised to see busy street stalls selling all kinds of traditional food - moochi, dried apricots, persimons etc. We were told that it was a weekend market !There were plenty of free food sampling. We had a traditional Hakka lunch of flat rice noodles and other side dishes at a corner restaurant. It was a good lunch stopover on our way to green world eco farm.
Will visit again.

Visited in November on a tour of northern Taiwan. Worth the detour to get here, we walked around in the late afternoon enjoying the hustle and bustle of the street markets and shops.

Beipu is a small village in Hsinchu County and we had the good fortune to be accompanied by friends who live in Taipei and were gracious enough to take us to Beipu. During our visit, we learned that Beipu is a populated mainly by members of the Hakka indigenous group and we learned about Hakka culture. We were there on a Saturday in mid June, but the streets were not overly crowded. There were many vegetable and fruit vendors along the streets. One highlight was making lei cha. Our daughter and the daughters of our friends spent about 30 minutes missing and blending the various ingredients to produce a delicious tasting drink. It is well worth the experience and time to visit Beipu if you can find a way to include it in your trip.

We enjoyed our lunch and walk around the village. Everything was very reasonably priced and people were very friendly.

My family and I had a great time making our own hakka tea and then shopping around at the local markets to try local eats.

北埔老街是熱鬧的街道,中央從廟寺向四方延伸出去,沿路都會有各式攤販販售自家商品。

The old street is a lively street. The central part extends from the temple to the four sides. There are various vendors selling their own goods along the road.
* *The toilet is next to the temple, open from 9:00am-17:00pm

As I visited Beipu, the weather was bad: cold and even rainy. However, Old Street was full of tourists and I could enjoy the ambiance of a Hakka village. Everything is compact, and so you don’t worry about losing your way.

Visited here after a refreshing dip in the Beipu Cold Spring. Like most people will tell you, the must-do things here are the diy le-cha, having a meal at the hakka restaurants, trying out the persimmon tarts and walking around the old streets. Had an enjoyable time doing all that here.

Beipu Old Street is really a must once you'll get the chance to go there. The streets are crowded with local specialities and you should try the cales, the tea, the fruits - or try everything. Charming mix of local Goods, local food and Hakka impressions & feeling. I loved it...
