    Good show
Worth seeing if you like cultural history. This dance was based on Rayman. Note you may have bought the ticket for the performance but you need a separate one to enter the park. Get their early to get a seat with decent view of dance and sunset. 6pm show is you want to see sunset.

A world class mythical show on Hinduism not to be missed!!
With views of the southern sea, it's really enchanting, The crowd can be overwhming so do go early and get a nice seat and one with shade to avoid the sunset directly on your face. The entire show itself was entertaining from start to finish depicting the many gods of Hinduism. And the sunset as the show goes into night and the fire dance starts, it's a experience itself.
Thankyou so much for your sharing. to guarantee the ticket you can book via kecakdancebali, com also. Hope you can visit us again

    What a neat experience!
Fun fire dance! Very entertaining! My husband and I were even brought in at one point to dance with the dancers in front of hundreds of people. Highly recommend checking this out if you are already at the temple. 150K/person. Very fun and a neat experience!

    An absolute must
This fire show and dance is an absolute must if you are visiting the Uluwatu temple. There are 2 shows one at 6 and the other at 7pm. Our driver managed to get the tickets for the 6pm show which was lovely as you can also witness the sun set. It is a very lively display of dance.

Rich cultural experience in a breathtaking locale — but be prepared to wait!
An unforgettable experience of another culture. As a tourist visiting from Canada, this was unlike anything I’ve ever seen, and I’d recommend it for that reason alone. There were two negatives that I have to note. 1) The seating is very uncomfortable, and you’re recommended to go and sit way early before the show to get a half decent spot — bring a cushion or something to sit on. 2) Buying online tickets was confusing and unclear, so we ended up buying tickets in person. We arrived an hour early to the ticket booth to ensure we got spots, waited in a zoo of a line, and this was in off season. Despite this, I still had to give it a five. The setting alone is worth a five — coliseum style seating overlooking the wide open ocean and one of the most majestic cliffsides you ever saw, watching the gorgeous sunset in plain view in real time with the performance unfolding in front of you. I have to street not to expect extremely elaborate acrobatic dancing, or magnificent tricks with dancing flames — this is not that. It’s the interweaving of the story with movement and chant (this group of forty men pretty much NEVER stops chanting for the entire hour!), and the playful nature of the presentation with plenty of audience interaction and personality that makes this experience so enjoyable.

    Dramatic and entertaining show
Dramatic and entertaining show, especially the finale with dancing through flames. Difficult to know how authentic, and the nuanced Balinese dance moves were overwhelmed by the spectacle. The open air tiered seating was packed beyond capacity with tourists, even seating the last arrivals, after the performance started, in the aisles which seemed unsafe. Clouds obscured the sunset when I was there but I'm sure it is beautiful when conditions allow. I found the 70-man accompaniment tiresome and "gamelan" only in being percussion, so if this is your only gamelan experience I would suggest something else. It does make a nice excursion combined with the famous Uluwatu temple.

    A Little Something Different
A friend of mine recommended this place to visit and enjoy the temple surroundings and beautiful view over the ocean. I was very glad I came for that alone but was also pleasantly surprised that there was a show. I purchased a ticket for this and enjoyed it thoroughly. The entire thing is done by voice and the show is quite playful and fun. It lasted around 80 or so minutes and was well done.

    Something different
I'm glad we checked this out for the evening during our stay in Uluwatu. I never saw a performance like this before and it was nice to learn about the culture. It does get repetitive so the length of the show is just right. We bought our tickets online and got there to watch the sunset from the temple and see the show. It was very crowded. We were staying in Uluwatu that night so it wasn't far from the hotel so I'd say this is worth checking out if you are staying close by or doing a day trip of activities that includes this. But I wouldn't travel from very far away just for the show (we did see signs for Kecak dance shows in Ubud but did not actually go to see them so I cannot compare.) Of note, we took Grab to get dropped off and that was fine but it was blocked to get picked up afterward so we eventually found a taxi driver to take us back to the hotel. So it might be worth having your return transportation set up beforehand.

    Must see show in Bali
This show was worth the price of admission. The surrounding temple and the views of the ocean are spectacular. The show itself was fun and entertaining. The only terrible part is the seating horrible. The crowds coming to see the show are large and the bench seats are tough to sit in for hours. In top of that the sun beams down on those waiting for the show to start. So while the show is great, the seating is less than desirable.

Go to MELASTI Beach for Kecak
Our smart driver took us to MELASTI beach for the Kecak, which was much less crowded than at Uluwatu. A bit of paper explained the different scenes of the performance and we were enchanted by this captivating, humorous and glamorous display. A beautiful location and we were spellbound!

One of the highlight at Ulluwatu Temple is Kecak Fire & Dance Show. The Kecak dance show was beautiful which happens at sunset hour. The lively and colourful show depicts the story of Ramayana in a very innovative and descriptive way. The character Hanuman interacted with the audience and also danced on fire. We enjoyed so much and also got clicked with the amazing characters too. One needs to ensure that they come on time to get good seating.

This is in an open area arena so you have to sit on concrete steps for a couple of hours since you have to arrive early in order to find a place to sit. However the day we went they did not stop filling the arena with people so it became so crowded that there was hardly any place for the dancers and the singers. Add to that the hot sun (90 F) and 40 singers screaming and fire burning not too far away, it was unbearable. We wanted to get up and leave but they packed in people so tightly that we could not even move. The show was nothing great - scenes from the Indian epic "Ramayana". We saw the same thing a few days later in the comfort of an air conditioned auditorium when we went to see the Devdaan show, which was much better than the Kechak dance show.

50k entrance fee for the temple, 150k for the show that takes about a hour. Nice to see, but be aware the temple closes right after the show. Show is a 17:55. Better come earlier.

Arrive early and get great spot to watch performance, since there will be finish after sunset, so we can enjoying performance and beautiful sunset at Indian ocean from our seat.
Read the story from the pamphlet, you will understand the full story.
There are no instruments or music, but great Kecak singing with loud, energetic and unique.
Tips:
Come early as soon as it’s open
Get great spot for performance and sunset
Use hat and sunglasses
Bring foods and water
Take photo with the dancer 😁

We visited with a group of 10 family members. The show was quite good however was let down by allowing people to come and go throughout the show and the repetitive sound of the “tap tap tap”, singing and sound. It became really annoying to the point of us wanting to leave early.

Make sure to go early as tickets sell out super quick. I had a guide so we went at around 15:00 when it was quiet and walked around the temple (most people do this). Go early as it is quieter then and you can appreciate the views. This is a separate ticket. The ticket for the dance can't be purchased online or in advance. You need to buy it on the day and the ticket office I think opens around 16:00 but check this as my guide bought it whilst I walked around the temple. Lines form early and every seat is taken. At the time of writing, August 2022, an adult ticket cost IDR 150,000. I am unsure about children. The show starts at 17:45 and ends at 18:45. The theatre area opens just maybe fifteen minutes before 17:00. Again, a line was forming quickly to get in and grab a good seat. First come, first served so if you want a good seat, go early. Having said this the steps as some reviewers have mentioned killed my backside. Take something to sit on. It hurt. Plus there isn't much room to move your legs. If you sit right at the top, just be mindful that it will take a bit longer to get out. Everyone rushes out at the end, looking for their transport or guides and wanting to get dinner. I am guessing they change the performance times according to sunset so check this. When you get your ticket, make sure to get the synopsis leaflet which is helpful as it explains what the show is about. They have the leaflet in a number of languages. You are free to take photographs and videos. I really enjoyed it. Without spoiling it too much, it really amazed me how these gentlemen performed for so long. I suggest not sitting in the front row as there is a part which is quite quick but they use fire and it became very hot and full of smoke (even though I was sitting a few rows up, I could still feel it). Apparently, there are two shows in the evening. I definitely suggest the sunset one. If like me, you get bitten by anything and everything, then use deet! When you leave, the monkeys are still about outside so just be mindful if you are carrying bottles of water or anything that will attract their attention.

What an amazing experience. I would highly recommend booking through a tour company to beat the queues and enjoy a personal guided tour. Our tour guide picked us up promptly, was friendly and very knowledgeable. The Kecak Fire Dance was very good, rather humorous in some sections. The temple, monkeys and sunset was well worth the visit. We booked dinner as well. The location of the restaurant was amazing, located right on the beach. The food was great, just be mindful of the fishbones if you have children or elderly persons with you.. All in all I would highly recommend this experience.

I found the dance average, though my family was quite thriller about the performance. While the setting, evening breeze, fire-heavy performance was mesmerizing in bits and pieces and the funny rendition by Hanoman was laugh-worthy but I didn't find enough to keep me hooked for the entire ~60 minutes. I was more interested in the sunset scenery at Uluwatu.

Do book your tickets in advance through various tour websites or through your hotel as it can get very crowded. Also, try to arrive a bit early (maybe by 5:30-5:40 for the 6 PM performance) as the best seats could else be gone. The best seats are the ones in middle in the central arena or at best on the far side (farthest from temple area).

A very cool 45 minute event which is worth the - ridiculous - queue to get in. The show itself tells a story over 4 stages, and the highlight is of course the white monkey actor. Would recommend reading the leaflet provided for the information. Highly recommend getting here before 2-3pm to purchase a ticket for the show, as the crowds get ridiculous.
