Absolutely lovely, tranquil and mesmerising part of Taipei, definitely worth a trip there! Based in Taipei for the trip but have done all the stuff within town so decided Beitou would be a good change from the hustle and bustle of main Taipei. I walked...More

The occupying Japanese developed the property as a spa, guesthouse, tea house and Kubiki in the 1920s. Seems the Japanese were instrumental in introducing host springs to Beitou and re-foresting the Yangming mountain area. This museum is a private museum. There are nearly 5,000 pieces of tradition artifacts from Taiwanese Han and Taiwan indigenous native people in this museum. Well preserved Japanese architecture house with an ancient rooftop.

If you have folks who are older and not able to walk a lot this is a great little place to spend some time. Even my husband and I liked it. Not a lot there but an interesting part of the history behind Taiwan.

This is a small museum (rather a Japanese traditional house) next to Grand View Hotel in Beitou. If you're staying at the hotel, try to visit. It will take just 30 minutes. Beautiful garden and building.

There was a wedding so unfortunately we weren't able to see what's inside because of a wedding celebration. It takes 20-30minutes walk to get to this place make sure to be well hydrated.

This is another small Japanese style building. It is pretty small but nice to view. The best way to visit this museum is to have a japanese lunch meal here.
