What a lovely place. Close to the city of Taipei but an entirely out-of-the-city venue. Breathtaking views, delicious hot springs, friendly people.

If you are in Taipei and have time, make the short trip to this park. Beautiful scenery! The actual trail is stone and not accessible.

There was one cafe at Yangmingshan which serves fresh bread and pizza and beverages. The pizza was fantastic, fresh from oven. The pizza crust was thin and the fillings are then fresh and tasty. Good, good, good...MUST try

Be prepared for lots of walking. Beautiful park worth exploring and do check out Xiao You Keng, a post-volcanic geological park for fumaroles (mountain side sulphur gas exhaust).

I think the peak of the bloom was earlier in the year (mid March), and I'm not sure how long the season extends.
