Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A beautiful place in mountains....30 minute bus ride from downtown Taipei. Folks enjoying in their most natural state. Hot soothing water. Exclusive mens and womens areas. I rate it a 10, with good lockers and showers !

Easy to get to on the Metro with gentle stroll up to the museum and then the springs. Lots of different things to see. Got lovely ice lollies from the shop up near the springs.

Was a bit hard to find. Language barrier. Finally found but is ok. The free dip pool needs swimming costumes and appeared ok. We passed didn't bother.

The public hot springs are located in and around a park in the town of Xinbeitou. It takes maybe 20 minutes to get there from the Taipei main station. You get on the red line and then transfer to the Xinbeitou line for the last 5 minutes. The park is outside the station and the public hot springs are a 8 to 10 minute walk. Bring your own towel, soap and shampoo. I had to buy a swimsuit ($10) at the more conservative Millennium Hot Springs (see photo). The Longnice Hot Spring pool ( see photo) is a block away and no swimsuit is needed. We opted for the four hour soak at the Grand View resort, which is about a 15 minute walk up the hill from the park. Men and women have separate areas, it is pricey, but worth it.

In days gone by, Beitou's hot springs were known throughout the Japanese Empire for their restorative properties.. When the end of the Japanese colonial era (1895-1945) came eventually, many people still attended the baths, which are not only hot, but are also said to be health-giving. The volcanic springs are both public and private. People entering the traditional Japanese-style onsen usually do not wear bathing suits

Beitou is a thermal area and hot springs abound. It's a popular resort area. During the Japanese colonial era (1895-1945) Beitou was famous throughout the Japanese empire as a spa resort. . These days, there are many onsen -- Japanese-style hot springs -- in Beitou. My family and I enjoyed Beitou public hot spring. It is very cheap to get in and they allow children as young as one in. I am currently pregnant, so they did not advise me to go in. I was able to go with my family, but did not get the full experience. The place hosts 5 different pools with different temperatures. You can buy a suit, swim cap and towels there if someone forgets their swim stuff. It is relaxing and I think better without small children. If you’re up for it you can kill two birds with one stone and walk through the thermal park. It’s pretty amazing.

Beitou is well known for its hot springs. You can have an enjoyable day out, either in public or private springs. Some springs allow visitors to wear swim suits, some don't . Japanese-style spas, known as onsen, don't usually allow the wearing of swimsuits. Some people say, however, that the onsen are more in keeping with traditional Beitou experince.Beitou dates from the Japanese colonial era. (1895-1945)

Beitou became a notorious hot-springs resort during the Japanese occupation of Taiwan (1895-1945). Many Japanese-style onsen (hot water baths) remain. There are public and private baths; prices vary. In the Pacific War era, Japanese soldiers would come here to relax before going into battle, including kamikazi pilots. Beitou is an area with prolific natural volcanic activity.
