The Japanese-style Hinoki Village is in the East District in Chiayi city. It is made for tourists . If you are looking for souvenirs, you have come to the right place. Taiwan has a complex relationship with Taiwan, it's former colonial ruler.

It is a small museum with lots of educational information about trees. My family was fascinated with various engaging toys made from wood like pinball machine, bucket stilts etc. A good place for family.

The Japanese style village where been preserved by Taiwan. The nice place to visit, walk around and see the wooden building. All houses have been turned to be souvenir shops. Recommend to visit once if you have free time in Chaiyi.

It is a peaceful area with old Japanese-style houses built from Hinoki wood, hence its name. It has shops and small gardens. I love the roses there. Lots of tourists and worth a visit.
