Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Not as crowded as Shilin, which i could never finished walking. Luodong night market is good for an hour's walk for food. Love the peanut wrapped ice cream popiah 花生冰淇淋薄饼 at NT 40, Weijie desserts 魏姐粉圆and the fruits. You will be spoilt for choices here

A pleasant night market, but a bit too much traffic trying to cut through the area.
Great fruit, interesting bites to eat and good quality bargains.
Close to train station.

We have been to 20+ night markets in Taiwan and this is our top 3.
However we agree that if we don't have local tips recommended from our B&B host its not highly rated as such.
Best highlight: the green onion pancake - that's shop is a road away from central night market. The BBQ stick and the lamb soup place (the right hand side store next to the most long queued one) and the charcoal grilled sugar cane juice with ginger!

Interestingly, of all the night markets I have been to in Taiwan, this one serves the best food, in my opinion. The food here can be found in various other night markets throughout Taiwan.

The night market with many delicious local food which is the best I visited in Taiwan.
Food is cheap and must try spring roll ice cream, sweet soup and sticky race.

This night market is easy to locate as it is located in the main city centre close to the train station. I arrived there in the early evening. All the shops and food stalls are opened. There are food (or snacks) that cannot be found in other part of Taiwan and they tasted very good.

We went here after seeing the good reviews. However, after been to night markets in tai bei and gao xiong, this place is too small in comparison and has very limited food choices.
However, there are some unique stuff about it. For example, the food stores provide seating. In addition, there are grilled spring onion rolls, mutton soup etc. dishes that cannot be found else where. The best part is the fried chicken steak, super big (almost double the size of those in Shi Lin night market) and super tender, way tastier than all the other fried chickens in any of the night markets in Taiwan. After eating this, I probably will not buy fried chicken from other places any more.

The night market are very huge and a lot of street food with cheaper price and nicer. Some of the food selling here is unique too. There are some nice little shops for clothes and other stuff to shop.

A popular night market which had a lot of good food. Try their 糕渣卜肉 (not sure what's the English term), spring onion fried bun (三星葱多饼), Cantonese braised items (广东卤味), BBQ green onion pork (香葱肉卷), boneless chicken skewers (无骨鸡腿串), yam balls with salted egg yolk (庙口芋圆), dragon Phoenix roll (龙凤腿), and many more were the items we tried and we've listed the must eat stalls with photos. Must visit night market when in Luodong/ yilan!!

There isn’t any at luodong night market, there’s a vegetarian stall in the night market though. You can try google to see when you are there if you have WiFi there.
