There have been many upgrades to this place over the years. A new temple surrounding the old one and dorms for the monks are most recent. You can't go inside the idol/statue anymore. You can just take a picture in front of it. Not too...More

It’s worth a trip just to see the big Buddha. Luckily I live close, if you had to come from far away, it’s not really worth the trip.

The smiling Buddha is worth taking pictures. You’re not allowed to enter, unfortunately. The district, North District, has other attractions, so this stop could be part of a day out

Worth a stop. Just walk in and take some pictures. The Buddha is almost 90 foot tall. Really impressive.

The Big golden Smiling Buddha is so beautiful, you will end up feeling so peaceful in this temple. There is a Japanese Shinto shrine at the back. And a smaller smiling Buddha. I went when it was raining heavily with all offices closed. But it...More

Not much here, but if you've got some time, it's always nice to take a picture with a giant buddha. People on your social media will freak out.

I would suggest you to take a taxi, unless you speak the Chinese language, can manage to use the bus system and ready to change bus lines.

It is free. However, donations are always accepted at temples. If you light incense (3 sticks is customary) and/or burn paper "money," a contribution is expected.
