Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

You have to take a couple of bridges and a short 15m walk to the waterfall. The view is really nice but nothing too special that stands out. The activity took around 1 hour but if you eat it could easily take 2.

I am not normally a waterfall person. I only went as this was included in a tour I was doing. I enjoyed it more than I thought. It isn't Niagra Falls but it was pretty. Small area. Makes a nice walk. We did a short 'hike' of 15 minutes or less to the bottom of the waterfall. You don't need long in the area. You won't get wet like some waterfalls, just expect a light spray. There is the usual array of food stalls and souvenir shops around. The toilets were not clean so avoid unless your desperate! The bridge walking to the main part did sway a bit but it was fine. Just avoid jumping on it. Worth doing if your in the area.

It was crowded when I went here. You have to make your way across a chain single file bridge to get to the falls. There are small restaurants and souvenir shops scattered around. And I saw a rainbow here! Wait for the train that passes by once every hour.

Visited the waterfall as part of a day tour with Jiufen. Reputedly the largest waterfall in Taiwan, it was quite pretty and there were various viewing platforms offering different viewing angles. Some small eateries on the way. Worth a visit

It was raining all day. Unfortunate but I was eager to see how Shifen waterfall looked like. It was spectacular. Mini Niagara Falls, it is known. I could watch it all day. It was a good walk from the entrance, passed a hanging bridge and right to the very end. There were food stalls along the way. Lovely falls.

While the dog I pet on the slippery bridge was adorable, I was disappointed to find that the actual viewing platform closes at 4:30pm for no obvious reason.

We came here at 4:00pm (the place closes at 4:30) and rushed over to the waterfall. There is a lot of walking and stair climbing, which is pretty tiring but the observation trail offers a lot of great views of the waterfall and river. If we arrived earlier, it probably would have been a more enjoyable stay as there are a few different trails, shops, and places to explore in the area. Even so, if you're tight on time like we were, it is still enjoyable and its still possible to take a lot of great pictures by the waterfall and on the bridge.

As the weather was drizzling and it had rained earlier, there were lots of water flowing over the waterfall, making it a beautiful sight. There were several platforms to view the waterfall and take photos. We had memorable views of the waterfall.

It takes approximately 10 minutes to trek to the waterfall from the main road through many stone steps along the way. Once there, you can to feel the majestic waterfall with scenes like a mini-Niagara falls. The waterfall lookout area is wide enough for the many visitors that do a quick stop to admire the beauty of the waterfall.
