went by land tour booked through Klook. Had to take bus 108 up to the bus station and walk up to the grassland. Very good weather and clear so we were able to view the nice mountain view. Temperature may be cooler on mountain so wear warm clothes.

It is a good place to take a relax with your family or friends. This period, the weather is hot, so this time I don't put on my jacket. But last time I come here, probably in the spring, I need to put on the jacket. Because the weather is a bit cold. But it is comfortable, especially when the weather is hot in the general area. In here, we walk over the trail, and then sit at the grassland and chat with each other. You also can climb the mountain. First time I went here, we climb the mountain and think it is good. In my memory, that would take some time, but it not much. It also have good views and cows. And the most important is I think there is good for a family or a group of friends to take a relax and chat with them.

Beautiful scenery and location! In the summer, I would recommend to arrive earlier in the morning before it gets too hot.

Cool weather up on the mountains, even though high temperature at the general Shilin area
Can be accessed by bus to the top of the mountain or by walking on the designated path from other areas
Great place to bring kids to picnic
Keep an eye on them at all times, especially near the bull area
Children may run into the fencing, not knowing the dangers
More areas can be reached from the grassland

My photos didn't do any justice to this place. Have to go there to see it yourself. Very scenic place and amazing view. Go there if you are visiting Taipei. Easily access via public transport - take the MRT to Jiantan Station, take city bus R5 (the bus stop is on the left of the station exit, not across the street). The bus will stop at Yangmingshan Bus Terminal. From there, take the shuttle bus 108, that will stop at the several main tourist attractions in Yangmingshan National Park.

This is my second trip to the QingTianGang grassland. The weather was good and clear and there were many people out on an excursion. My first trip was in Feb 2017, the weather then was foggy and visibility was less than 100m and nothing further than that could be seen.
QingTianGang is located at the end of the Yangmingshan bus 108 drop off stop or reachable direct by bus S15 from JianTan mrt station. There is a visitor service center providing a brief description of the area, a washroom and as well as a small convenience store selling. There's also a vending machine outside the visitor service centre.
On a good weather day, the buffalos will be let loose to roam and feast on the grassland. Under no circumstances should we teased them. I witness a guy done that and one of the buffalo followed him a distance towards the start of the trail.
From QingTianGang, there is a trial on the right which leads you to JuanSi waterfall and LengShuiKeng. Walking to either one might takes you over 30mins or more. Before the starts of the trail, there is a visible walk path on the left leading to the JinBaoLi path. The whole length is 4.6km. That might be attempted on my future trip to QingTianGang.

Beautiful place at the top, really windy and cooling during the winter season. See great views of mountains and was quite relaxing to just sit on the grass plains.
However, really tiring climb up the mountains of stairs, though with checkpoint stops in between to take photos and rest. But it was worthwhile at the end!
Please visit the toilet before going up!

How long does it takes to go to the peak? Which bus stop to alight? Thank you

U need to find the bus tht stop over at the tourist center, then xfer onto their inbound attractions bus which go in loop. If u only interested in some areas, probably an check bus from shih lin Market, beitou subway that actually stop by at some attractions points. Then after sight seeing, hop onto inbound bus to proceed to next. U r able to use the easy card.
