Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The lane isn't all that long but I thought the artwork there was exceptional. The predominant subject matter are cartoon characters so it wasn't surprising to see parents coming and going with their children. I thought it was worth a look and certainly won't take up too much of your time.

It sure if this is an individual effort or a group but these paintings really brighten up the street and turned it into an attraction. Good move guys.

Stopped by to capture some photos for my daughters and specifically took a selfie with the Totoro bus stop. Other notables were Winnie the Pooh, Spider-Man, Mario Brothers, the Simpsons and lots of Japanese anime that I am not very familiar with. Big collection of characters and most nicely executed. I did find one wall that was a work in progress with characters drawn but pending the final colors and touches.

Lots of murals but concentrated in a couple of blocks.

A nice side trip if nearby or on the way to National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts (my last stop of the AM).

Located in a small lane a quiet residential neighbourhood, it could be quite difficult to locate.

Relatively small stretch of walls with the murals of old classic animation cartoons.
Best time to visit is early in the morning before there is any disruptive sunshine, or late afternoon, for a perfect picture without shadows.

The street itself is short. I was there to feel the passion and effort of drawing all these cartoons. It is not a must go place. But is nice to drop by

Walked 30 minutes to this place from Taichung Railway Station and only took 5 minutes walking from one end to the other, as we didn’t feel the need to take pictures. Unless you’re staying somewhere nearby, I don’t think it’s worth the effort just to come here and see the art work.

This is great. Self explanatory with mostly pictures from anime series like Dragon ball z, Doraemon and the like. Some western animation like the Simpsons, Looney tunes and, of all things, Popeye. Not very long, but it does snake around a corner.

Painted Animation Lane is a cool little alley with murals of popular animations. Most are of popular Japanese anime like Haikyu but there were some popular American animations as well like the Simpsons and Garfield. While not worth going out of the way for, it’s a short fun stop if you’re on your way to somewhere nearby.

I didn't have much time in Taichung and was only able to visit things that were within walking distance of the hotel I was staying at. This was a short walk in the very early morning (when it was slightly cooler than the middle of the day!). I thankfully was able to find a mom and her daughter to take a picture of me as Super Mario along the painted section of wall with this animation.

I'm very glad to have a fun travel memory of my time in Taichung!

Street art is still in its infancy in most parts of Asia so it's nice to see a group of artists taking the time & initiative to decorate this little alley. Not an extensive collection but if you like Japanese anime then you should certainly check it out. Good activity for kids as well.
