Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Art, with much care, can blend and even uplift the beauty of nature. Such one is the Xiangshan Visitor Center. It is at a vantage view overlooking the Sun-moon Lake. The facilities are nice and clean. There are cafes and restaurants around to sit down and refresh while enjoying the view of the lake. The museum hosts some cultural exhibits and free visual show about the lake and the nice things around it. The shops are intended for tourists and local travelers alike.
When visiting Sun Moon Lake, it is best to have the first stop in this place and then plan out from here how you can enjoy the most your time around the place. Maps of the lake and the tourist places around it are available for free. Their staffers are also knowledgeable and friendly to guide the travelers on how to best explore both the nature and comfort of the tourist places.

We stopped here as we traveled around the lake. It is perched on the edge of a cliff that over looks the lake. Hence, it is a good place to take some nice pictures. The building itself is interesting in design and there are places where the lighting gives a good effect for photos. Our guide told us that couples do wedding shoots at the hallway due to the way the lights come into the corridors. While we were visiting, there was a Bonsai exhibition which had some really good Bonsai.
Other than that, there is not much else to see.We took spend about 30mins here.

The building is amazing with a nice coffee terrace overlooking the lake. What is really worth the visit is the very nice trail back to Shiashe. This is around 3,4 kms (40 to 50mns if you take your time to take photos). You have to be aware that this is mainly a biking trail and a few people seem to be biking for the 1st time of their life !!

Xiangshan Visitor Center is a place that offers you the serenity of Sun Moon Lake and the space away from the busy tourist spots. The Center comprised of concrete, water and grass. The 2 curved concrete structures do not destroy the harmony with Nature. A pool of water like an infinity pool gives you an illusion of connecting to the Lake. The rooftop of greenery is an elevated lookout for a view of the Lake. It is effortless to get to the Center with just a bus ride. It is peaceful and quiet now but not until busloads of tourists pour in.

Good place to start the 3 km walk or ride to the Shuishe Visitor Centre. This is a better starting point as the Shuishe Visitor Centre area can be very crowded. There is not much to see here other than to take photos of the lake.

The cafe has food and beverages you can buy to consume while overlooking the lake.

Make sure to visit the Xiangshan Overlook Bridge, overlooking the lake.

Great location with wonderful view angle, however, someone should clean its artificial waterfront up. I loved its reflection in the water surface, if the water was cleaned.

Taking a break, this place offers a much flatter view of the sun moon lake. An uniquely shaped building surrounded by greens, there are many very well groomed Bonsai trees along with carved rocks. Very pleasant area for photos and a rest. Accessible by bike.

The Xiangshan Visitor Center is a clean and open designed area with some nice coffee and souvenier shops and small restaurants.
From this location you hava beautiful view over the Sun Moon Lake and at the same time you can find some shadow on hot days.
Very interesting are the acoustic effects if you stand in the open hall and make some noise or say something loud.
If you visit at the weekend then you can find lots of Pokemon hunters and if you are as lucky as my son then you even can catch the very seldom Asian special pocket monster that otherwise is not available in Europe.
