About
In 2007 the Taiwan Cultural-Creative Development Co. Ltd assumed responsibility for the renovation and operation of the Park and renamed it Huashan 1914. An organically creative environment has been growing ever since. Huashan 1914 now serves as Taipei's primary creative arts center and a hosting ground for Taiwan's most significant cultural activities. Examples include the Simple Life music festival and the BiBo student design expo. Today Huashan 1914 is not only the heart of Taiwan's creative pulse, but also a bridge to a unique architectural past.

- IneikaFrankfurt, Germany286 contributionsA visit to the Creative Park is worthwhileThe creative park is absolutely worth a visit. It's a nice change for any sightseeing hey programme. On an old industrial site, artists and young designers sell their creations, you can visit exhibitions and also have a wonderful meal and drink. It's totally relaxing to stroll around the grounds.Visited October 2023Travelled soloWritten 26 October 2023
- Abovetheclouds2,222 contributionsHip, arty and trendy. Go on a weekend when it is in full swing. Nice if you need a break from sightseeing.I debated on coming here. Last few days in Taipei and I had seen everything else. Glad I came. I guess weekends are best. Saturday afternoon and the place was buzzing. Nice sunny warm afternoon. There was some sort of show on, stalls, shops, places where you could get a bite to eat or drink plus areas where there were activities or games. Think arty, hip, trendy and quirky or as the name suggests creative. Shops sold quality items from handicrafts to bags, shoes and more. A great urban space. Very clean. Attracts a varied crowd from families to teenagers. Something for everyone. Easy to navigate. Not huge but big enough. Worth going to if you need a break from sightseeing or if like me, you had seen everything else. There is no entrance fee. I may be wrong but it looked like you had to pay for some activities.Visited November 2023Travelled soloWritten 4 November 2023
- Orator11Singapore, Singapore7,442 contributionsTry The Cafes And Eclectic Artisanal ShopsQuite a nice place to visit, with its converted warehouses and buildings. There are many pubs, restaurants and cafes here, in addition to the eclectic mix of shops featuring clothes, souvenirs and artisanal products like soaps, perfumes and bakeries. There are also a few galleries. Do keep an eye out for a ginger cat that likes to sun itself on the upper ledges. Also have some coffee and cheesecake at the Spot Lumiere cafe.Visited November 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 14 November 2023
- waijgjy224 contributionsQuality of visit depends on shows of the dayThis facility is essentially a vessel for different cultural events. This visit, we were lucky enough to encounter 2 shows which my child and I both like. Waking Wonderland : an interactive digital show inspired by Alice in Wonderland. My child had a blast running around, immersing himself in the story. Immersive Art Exhibition on Impressionism: I think I saw this somewhere else. But tickets are definitely cheaper here in Taipei. They "animate" the paintings and make for a pretty one hour show.Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten 1 April 2024
- VL38 contributionsHip and Beautiful Venue for Shopping, Strolling, Eating, and ArtsOne of our favorite places in Taipei and a nice break from all the major chain stores. I love the hip and unique shops with local, handcrafted, and curated items. The restaurants are also all fantastic from a cafe with cakes and tea to a yummy noodle restaurant that has exceptional boba (Chun Shui Tang). Every time I go, there is a new exhibition to check out as well. We've been a few times now from when my kid was in elementary school and now a teenager and each time everyone finds something interesting there.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 14 August 2024

I heard great things about this creative arts district. However, I found it a bit disappointing. It's basically a collection of art galleries and the exhibitions can be really hit or miss. Also, mostly exhibitions cost money to enter. So, the cost of your visit can add up pretty quickly. There are some cute shops around. However, there are cute shops all over Taipei. So, no need to really come here just for shopping and cafes.
This area is fun to just walk around if you have little kids though. They can run around and not be worried about cars or traffic.

The area consists of 9 old red brick buildings housing arts, gifts, hand made items, toys, a movie theatre, art galleries showing art of famous artists, special events, like a dinosaur building for kids, a cat celebration of Fumeacats, (a famous Internet cat site) where you can buy cat knickknacks, a blow up bouncy room for kids, specialty food stores for honey, yam products. There are many coffee shops and little restaurants, including a pizza restaurant.
This is a fun district to browse through and I particularly liked the toy stores; some with the latest anime toys, some Toy Story characters, Sponge Bob, Star wars. Everyone knows Hello Kitty and the latest new character created by Japanese parent company, Sanrio, is a woeful, sad egg yolk which has gained huge popularity. It's name is Gudetama. My favourite toy store was one of hand made wooden toys in miniature. At the front were glassed in display cases of turning music boxes, tops which spun, little wooden cars that were ‘driving’ around the other music boxes
Adjacent to this brick area is a very large green park with playground for kids, lots of seating for adults to rest. There is a pond, a sculpture of a leaf growing out of the lotus plant. There are walkways, bicycle paths. Alongside the park is a street of many bus stops and an overpass bridge runs parallel to the street.
This is a great area to visit on a weekend or holiday period in this city.

We visited this place on a hot and sunny afternoon. Quite a lot of people around, mainly youngsters. The place would appeal to those interested in creative arts. This place is similar to the Pier 2 Art Centre in Kaohsiung, but smaller and not as nice.

Huanshan 1914 Creative Park is Taipei's creativ e arts centrde. It isthe home of many cultural enterprsses. The buildings are cobbled together from factories that were used in the Japanese colonial era to make alcoholic beverages, which were collectively known as "wine." The Creative Park is the primary site for cultural events in Taipei.

Cool concept of adaptive reuse to a new purpose. I visited on a Sunday midday and a free outdoor music performance looked to be starting about 2 pm. I was expecting more working artist studios and their words for sale. Instead, it was tourist shops and nicer souvenirs. About 6-8 different places to eat and snack.

These types of areas are becoming more popular in Asia. I saw 2 similar areas in Hong Kong. Theres plenty of little boutique stores that sells some interesting items. Its still a nice place to hangout if you have some downtime.

Heard that vendors usually setup on the weekends? Any idea if it's worth visiting on a weekday?
Written 2 April 2023
What time of the day is it best to visit this place? We're torn between going there in the afternoon or at night. Thanks!
Written 6 March 2018
I think it's best to go there when there's still light outside.
Written 14 March 2018
Depends on different stores ,galleries and restaurants opened between am 09:30 to am 11:00.
Written 20 December 2017
What time does this place close during the week?
Written 23 November 2016
This place opens 9:30 and closes around 9:00, but the closing time of each exhibition will vary.
Written 23 November 2016
should i visit this place in the weekends or weekday?
Written 16 August 2016
Both okay,
Unless you are aiming to see a specific exhibition that just opened, then weekdays would be in your favour.
