A great monument, clean and tidy. An ancient temple complex, something different. Architectural masterpiece . A lovely waterbody in front of it. Entry ticket is ₹ 20 but mode of payment is on line. Not many steps and easily accessible, do visit.

A great experience. Worth a visit . We two couples Visited this place today from Jwalamukhi Himachal Pradesh. About thirty kms away. A hidden treasure. Worth a visit.
The Masrur Temples, also referred to as Masroor Temples or Rock-cut Temples at Masrur, is an early 8th-century complex of rock-cut Hindu Temples in the Kangra Valley near the Beas River in Himachal Pradesh, India. The temples face northeast, towards the Dhauladhar range of the Himalayas. They are a version of North Indian Nagara architecture style, dedicated to Shiva, Vishnu, Devi and Saura traditions of Hinduism with its surviving iconography likely inspired by a henotheistic framework.

A beautiful rock cut temple. Place is also beautiful. Mythologically this Rama temple was build by pandav. A pool is in front of temple. The temple was partially demolished due to earthquake in the year 1905.
It is approx 50 km distance from Mcleodgunj.
Maximum tourist escapes this place but it is must visit place. You will have to buy ticket online.

A cool and nice trip with family. Nice place to visit on. Approaching way is till to the Temple and perfect and smooth. A nice single piece rock Temple that's handcrafted by Pandwa's some structure's are prefect and still in that same position but some are altered by Government to preserve it for a longer time after the 1905's Earthquake.

It's a small temple made out of rock, it makes sense to visit this place by combining it with pong dam which is just 15 kms from this place. There are two roads going to this place, shorter route is via gaggal and internal link road and another longer route is via Kangra. If you prefer good road, then via Kangra is recommended.

The rock cut temple is worth a visit.

- Coming from Dharamshala side the inside route though shorter is in poor condition.
- Use the Pathankot highway as its better.
- Rs 5 ticket per person available at the gate.
- Lovely temple complex however most of it has crumbled over the years.
- Largely restored by ASI. Good job at keeping it from crumbling further but terrible job at retaining its original beauty.
- View point, fish feeding, tuck shop and restrooms are available.
- Adequate parking facility.
- Not much time required here so combine your visit with Pong Dam or dome other nearby attraction.
- Flooding of temple complex restricts movement and access to the view point.

Worth a visit.

Masroor rock cut temple reminds one of the sheer effort made by the artisans and craftsmen of ancient times in making a beautiful structure. The ASI is making some effort to restore this temple to its glory, since it was damaged by a quake in the beginning of last century! Worth a visit.

A must must visit place in Kangra district . If your are near the area don’t miss out on this beautiful attraction. It’s a beautiful temple in the valley surrounded by Himalayas . Views are mesmerising. Don’t forget to eat the Maggie outside the temple .

People who come to Dharamshala go for day-tour of 4 devis. However, if you are not very religious but expect to see these 4 temples from architectural viewpoint you will be surely disappointed. In that case Masrur is best site for you. It appears that alike Mammallpuram (Chennai), an attempt was made to create temple our of small hillock (monolithic temple) but faults in rock posed some challenge either in the beginning itself or later on. The site is under control of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) so is well preserved and maintained. Some portions of it is said to have been damaged in massive earth quake that hit Kangra in 1905. As per ASI the temple dates back to 8th Century and it is believed that the work of excavation could not be completed as per plans as there were faults in sandstone ridge on which excavation was being done.
Pillars, walls and sculptures on these have been damaged but suggest that it must be a great piece of work in its prime. Do make it a point to carefully see carving work on Northern side (left side) of temple.
If you are particular about taking good quality photographs do visit during morning light. The temple faces East. There is a pond in front of temple complex, reflection of temple in which may give great pictures during morning light.
Entry ticket is Rs 15. There is parking place for a few vehicles just on backside of temple. Surprisingly wash room is located on a hillock on left side of temple. There is no official canteen but an old villager runs a stall near the monument. He can prepare tea for you and is highly satisfied person with his life. He has no desire to fleece tourists.
