About
Somerset Crafts is an Arts & Crafts Gallery at the Avalon Marshes Centre, BA6 9TT. We display & sell the work of our members, who are artists and craftspeople living in Somerset. Nearby are the beautiful nature reserves of Shapwick Heath, Ham Wall & Westhay. The Avalon Marshes is an ancient wetland landscape on the Somerset Levels, home to a large variety of wildlife. The spectacular starling murmurations on the local nature reserves are a sight not to be missed. The Avalon Marshes boast of Stone Age, Iron Age & Roman dwellers in their vast cultural heritage. Inspired by these beautiful locations, our art & crafts include ceramics, stained glass, jewellery, oil, acrylic & watercolour paintings, photography, handmade soaps, stone sculpture, textiles, furniture & wood turning. All our products are unique, original & locally hand crafted of exceptional quality and value for money. We are now open 10am - 5pm, every day Monday - Sunday. There is a cafe on the site.

Wonderful crafts and wonderful area to explore.

Bring your bike and cycle from Glastonbury if you want to experience the wide expanse and very flat easy cycling that the levels provide

Avalon Archaeology is next door so plenty to see and do.

We were visiting Avalon Marshes and whilst we were there took the opportunity of having a good browse amongst the craftworks inside the wooden building. All items on sale are handmade by a group of local artists, so a bit expensive for us OAPs. But the jewellery, soaps, shawls, paintings, wall decorations are superb! A hidden gem in beautiful Somerset!

Gorgeous gallery full of art from talented artists and a really lovely cafe selling homemade food and gluten free food to die for, it's the first time I've ever been offered gluten free quiche, it really was lovely - a real hidden gem.

One of the best craft centres I have visited, well priced and well made crafts. The lady who served me was lovely she makes the candles, soap and bath bombs and was so helpful and chatty.

I bought quite a few items which are now on show in my home and look lovely.

This is a hidden gem of a Gallery and anyone visiting Glastonbury should take a look. Somerset Crafts is only a few miles out of town and well worth the trip. The Gallery is a large, airy, white building which displays the work of the members of the group. There is a good mixture of arts and crafts including photography, textiles, stone carving, ceramics, painting, sculpture and wood carving. The work is of a high standard and there are items to suit every pocket. There is also a good selection of cards on offer. Somerset Crafts showcases the work of local artists and that local inspiration makes the pieces on display unique to this place. The person staffing the Gallery is one of the artists so very knowledgeable about the exhibition. There is plenty of parking directly outside the Gallery which itself is all on one level. There is also a cafe outside serving homecooked food and cakes which can be eaten outside in warm weather or inside the Gallery if you prefer.

Visited this excellent centre. Quite small but an extensive and varied selection of quality artwork from local artists including stained glass, jewelry, paintings, photography, woodwork, sculpture etc, etc. It has a very good cafe which serves good hot and cold snacks and drinks.
Give yourself plenty of time to fully explore the area including the rivers of the Somerset wetlands.
Well worth the visit - recommended.

If you want good quality art at reasonable prices, this is the place to go.
Crafts represented includes pottery, glass, watercolours, fabrics, weaving, embroidery, woodworking, sculptures to name a few.
It also house information about the local marshes and the wildlife that inhabits it.
I've been a few times and each time have ended up buying some art.

Worth the journey, not a large place but all the crafts are first class. Definitely not the run of the mill.

Very interesting and very unusual stuff, loved it.

I come down to Somerset quite frequently and this place is always on the itinerary.

They rotate their providers and so there is usually something new to see.

I have picked up some interesting pieces here to take home. Prices are good.

Even if you don't buy, it's interesting to have a look and they have a cafe on site.
