Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were delighted to find that the Kells Sheep Dog demonstrations is still available every day. We had a fabulous demonstration of skills and a fascinating talk about the trials and tribulations of running a farm.

Super value, entertaining and fun experience to see working dogs in action. Didn't know what to expect, just stopped in by chance but glad we did. Kids and adults loved watching the dogs in action and were very interested in everything Tom had to say. 45min show flew by. Highly recommend.

We stopped here as part of our ring of Kerry tour with wild Kerry tours. It was an amazing day made perfect by this fun stop. Tom was so friendly and very informative. Jingo was amazing. It was so much fun to watch. If you are in the area, you MUST go!

4 woman on holiday from US. This stop was one of many of the highlights of our 2 week stay in Ireland. We are all dog lovers and one girl in our party even has show dogs in the US (Westminster quality) The demo was brilliant. The dogs were so fun to watch. It was very cheap to get in - it was pretty crowded as well. The gift shop was very congested with all the tour bus companies stopping there. It was a bit chilly and it was very nice that the bartender let us take our hot chocolate and baileys out with us to drink in our own time. Absolutely stop here if you can.

We almost missed this attraction but luckily our driver insisted we stop. The owner/operator of the sheep farm gave a great talk with live sheep on the types of sheep raised in Ireland. Next he had his 2 border collies demonstrate their prowess. Impressive to say the least. Not too long, about 30-45 minutes and only 5 Euros. Its in the top 5 of the many, many attractions we saw in Ireland and yet the least expensive!

Take 30 minutes out of your day and watch Brendan Ferris maneuver his dogs and sheep using voice commands and a whistle. You will learn about the different kinds of sheep and be awed by the skill and knowledge of his handling. It's only 5 euros. A must see. I loved it. One of the highlights of my trip to Ireland. A nice retirement for him, and an enjoyable learning experience for us. You'll look at the sheep in the fields in a whole new light.

Sheep herder Brendan Ferris is an amazing, talented sheep herder. He and his dogs could move the herd of sheep anywhere on the mountainside with the slightest whistle and gestures. The ease at which he and his dogs moved and controlled the sheep was truly amazing to watch. This became one of my fondest memories of my last trip to Ireland. It had me in awe considering I can hardly get my dog to sit. For the nominal fee, it's a must see!

We've been here twice and enjoyed it both times. Brendan is a very good caretaker of his dogs and sheep and you learn so much from him. Well worth the price of admission.

I was there this past May, did the Ring of Kerry bus tour and we stopped at Brendan Ferris Sheepdog Demonstration. I was really looking forward to see dogs in action and this was the BEST STOP EVER!!! What a show this man puts on with these amazing dogs. He shares his training of the dogs, different calls and the dogs were the star.

I could have stayed there all day watching those amazing dogs, the sheep and enjoying Brendan's wonderful sense of humor. It is an ABSOLUTE MUST.

If someone asks you if you want to watch dogs herd sheep over green grassy knolls in Ireland, the answer should always be yes! Brendan was the first and only shepherd I’ve ever met, but I can’t imagine there’s a better one out there. After educating us about different kinds of sheep, we watched the dogs effortlessly move the sheep up and down the mountains. We loved every minute!
