Local Legend stated that the Devil while flying over the local mountain grew angry and took a piece from the hill and dropped it at the Rock of Cashel....its folklore as the two types of Rock are different and it was more likely to be displacement during the Iceage...however the view from the top is stunning on a clear day... More

The summit offers Great views. Not too difficult to climb. You need to be relatively fit though and use proper footwear

Its a great place to visit ,good veiws,Theres no charge . Good parking . You have a long walk up and i suggest a fit person .They say the devil took a bit out of the mountain .Known as the devil bit.

If is a sunny summer's day and you are near.....its totally worth going up this hill....the view is amazing and is really peaceful. Use comfortable shoes though....

Was able to enjoy the wonderful devils bit from my families house over in Ireland. Wonderful scenery, and stunning views.......simply beautiful!!!!!

tranquility (on a calm day), had the place to ourselves. Amazing views across to the Galty Mountians on one side and Lough dErg on the other. There was visible signs of broken auto glass in the car park/ picnic area, so as with anywhere else, don't leave valuables on show in your car.

With my husband and seven year old we decided to climb the legendry Devil's bit. Brought my 4 and 7 year old for their first hike, need to know where your going to find starting point. Brought essentials, picnic and good walking shoes. The kids lasted till the cross. Great views and well outlined route.

there not much to see until you reach the top of the mountain but the views are great this is definitely for hill climbers and not for the faint hearted it is steep hard climb you must be prepared for the climb and remember take everything you need with you and take a rain jacket cause the weather can change... More
