Husband and I drove out here with his middle-aged aunt for a short day hike. We parked at the Vee and did not climb knockmealdown or sugar loaf, but chose another smaller mountain nearby that looked faster and easier because we only wanted to spend...More

Park at the Vee and you have a choice of two walks or a loop if you have navigation. Great views but choose the weather carefully!

To enjoy this area, hardly anyone around, quite challenging on the roads, however, high up in these ranges there is no one else about, definitely worth getting out and enjoying it.

Fantastic walking and views in the area - the beautiful Vee. Accessible from Clogheen easily. The ascents are very manageable and great place to meet other walkers.

I climbed this (2,906 ft, but less if you start at the Vee carpark) and it had spectacular views of several counties and the coast from the top. You need to be fit, though! (I wasn't, but made it)
