Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a fantastic day paddle boarding at the boating lake. The lake manager, Rebecca was incredibly friendly and helpful, giving much needed advice to us novice paddle boarders. We were also able to swap over to kayaks to give that a go.
The site has improved so much since our visit when it first opened, with astro all round the edge of the lake, so no more trekking through the mud. The changing facilities were spotless and there was a lovely cafe on site. I really recommend a visit.

Brilliant, So glad we stumbled across this fantastic place as it completed an excellent little weekend away, It's a must for all ages. A family run lake next to the sea front that has a variety of water sports to try out including, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, sailing, wind surfing, a rowing boat and a great inflatable aqua obstacle course. It's run superbly and the owner Rebecca went above and beyond to help and encourage our daughter (Summer) on the aqua park, thank you so much 😃, you can tell she really enjoys what she does and is on the inflatables urging people on. All the staff were great and friendly including Rebecca's daughter louise who helps run the park with her, she was very helpful to us all and thank you also. The prices were excellent value for money and to give an example, we paid £20 for our daughter and she tried the kayaking, paddle boards and aqua park, p.s. this price also included the bouyancy aids and wet suits. We didn't try much ourselves as we weren't prepared (stumbled across the place like we said) but our daughter absolutely loved it, we took the rowing boat out and had great fun just in that. Changing rooms and toilets available and also a lovely cafe onsite too. Thank you again, We will definitely be returning so we can all have a go next time, and I highly recommend to all. P.s. free parking too.

A great afternoon with 4 teenagers. Good that wetsuits included in session cost. Clear but fun briefing before the obstacle course session. Not too crowded. Staff v helpful. Chose to add on an hour of paddle boards too. Cafe food very reasonably priced.

I wouldn’t recommend this aqua park to anyone with children over the age of 11. It’s really poor in comparison to others such as St Osyth. If you have been elsewhere you will be disappointed. The staff are friendly but the facilities are poor. The cafe had very limited food available - around two items available on the entire menu. The website doesn’t give details of high tides which you really need to know to be able to plan your booking. The opening times changed at very short notice and portly communication ocTed I was lucky enough to receive a courtesy call to amend my booking with about 90 mi utes notice, but others weren’t as lucky. Poor refund policy left disappointed visitors. Did not appear to be any senior management visible at the site. Don’t waste your money, there are far better places available with superior facilities for the same price in the area!

Went to check this out for a visit with the grandchildren. This "Boating Lake" is somewhat more than that. A large salt water lagoon fed from the sea but with no tide. So always water to play in. Kids on paddle boards rule this lake, just having fun. But there is much more.
You can canoe, windsurf, sail or open swim. You can hire kit or take your own. A day ticket to use your own kit is £5, a bargain. Clean showers, toilets, changing rooms. A café with burgers, sausage rolls, et-cetera. Chairs on the patio for the mums to chat whilst watching there kids safely run riot on there paddle boards.
I took my SUP to try and get back on my feet. It was perfect. No where to drift away on the tide. In fact no tide! Big enough to practice my skills. Always in sight of the staff on the shore. Good free car park.
Also in the driest place in the UK, South East Essex.
If your kids love the water. Buy them a paddle board, book a lesson and take them down there.
Look out for a wobbly old man on a board surrounded by grandchildren. Great fun.
