Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a free site, so it's convenient to make a stop over here on the way to the temple at Phnom Chisor. The towers face east, so for better lighting, visit it in the morning.
There are currently two brick towers in the area. One of which has a beautifully carved lintel. Both of them are said to have original interior paintings and it would be an experience if one can ask permission from the monks to open it. It is a must!
Though not as impressive as its counterparts in Angkor, the prasat neang khmau offers a good insight on how extensive the Khmer civilization was in terms of scope and depth. Cradle of the Khmer Civilization". Sadly, not many people know the history of this humble Cambodian province.
Interestingly, Prasats Neang Khmau have sister-temple towers in Angkor itself: the Prasat Kravan. I'm glad to have seen both and have known their connection!

These two brick towers are now found within the grounds of a modern wat and monastery. One of them has an impressive lintel over the entrance, but it may be a reproduction. Most of the rest of their decoration has been lost or stolen, making these towers less impressive and interesting than we hoped. Nonetheless, in dating back to the reign of a king from the obscure Koh Ker dynasty, which ruled Cambodia for about twenty years in the early tenth century, they are certainly venerable and are an easy addition to a trip to the magnigicent ruins at nearby Phnom Chisor.

This tower is small and black from being burned. It is worth a 1o-15 minute stop if you are driving by. Nothing special, just photo opportunities. Enjoy.

This little set of temples is another surprise that is well worth stopping for on your way through Takeo. With little to no signage, Prasat Nean Khmao hosts few visitors: a welcome change from the Siem Reap temples, and a short distance from the country's capital.
