    Great experience
Stumbled across the sign at the turtle beach more or less by accident. Thought we couldn’t do the snorkeling since the sea was quite rough and we had little kids with us. But the guide was lovely and organized a boat, life vests for the kids and off we went. And even though the current was strong and the visibility was not the best, we saw two turtles and could even bring the kids to the water down from the boat and they could see the turtles swim as well. Certainly unforgettable for them. Many thanks to the very kind guide and the boatman. Highly recommended

    Big turtles by the beach!
The turtles are soooo big! And they just swim next to you! We have seen two big ones - one closer to the beach and one closer to the reef. We have seen a fair amount of colorful fish and a bunch of corals. Sandaru tries his best to keep the beach protected, helping launch the baby turtles 🐢 to the sea, “planting” corals… it felt so nice! I liked the authentic and welcoming people here, as well as the nice stories shared. It was raining first day I arrived and Sandaru followed up with me every day for the next three days because the water was not very clear or the turtles were not close. I loved that he did not try to push us to come. He just waited so we can have a great experience. Thank you for an amazing experience!

    Great to see Turtles
Sandaru is a brilliant guide. Him and his brother tell you all about the corals and show you great spots to see fish amonst them. Even in high tide they were able to easily find some turtles and swim along with them. Definitely speak to these guys if you want to see turtles rather than try it on your own.

    Turtle tour
It was a really nice experience. We have seen 2 turtles, a lot of fishes and beautiful coral. We could swim really close to the turtles. Our guide took the time to show us everything we wanted, he was really kind. I recommend

    Great experience!
A great way to see turtles in the South. Very animal friendly activity where you can see the turtles but can’t feed or touch them. We contacted the guide in the morning, he would let is know if it was a good day to spot the turtles because we’re not in the season right now. He called us to come over and we had a great experience and saw a few turtles nearby the coast. The guide swam all the way with us and kept checking if we were ok, very nice!

    Lovely experience
We rented the snorkel equipment and took a guide who swam with us all the time and took good care of us. We would have never found the turtles ourselves, since it’s out of season, but our guide took us to the turtles and it was so nice. The guide is truly respectful with the nature and he collected plastic from the ocean. Beautiful experience and very friendly people. Thank you!

    Magical Sea Turtle Encounters!
Swimming at Turtle Point was truly such a special experience! We saw TWO sea turtles during our snorkel and it was incredible just to be able go float with them in the waves. Sanduru is such a friendly person who truly cares about turtle conservation. Unlike at other beaches known for sea turtles, Sanduru works to protect these magnificent creatures and implores tourists not to touch or feed them (as this is ultimately extremely harmful). Sanduru even purchased hundreds of sea turtle eggs with his own money last year and released the baby turtles into the ocean. If you come to see the turtles, Sanduru will also be honest with you if he doesn’t think you’ll see any on the day you plan to go - and I know from other reviews, that he will keep you updated on when your chances of seeing them are high if you give him your contact info! The best time to go is at around 9AM. If you’re looking to see sea turtles along the South-western coast of SL, this is the place 🤩

    Snorkling at turtle point
So impressed by the dedication one man has to preserving and maintaining nature. From safeguarding the turtles especially during hatching season to planting new coral in costal areas and beach clean ups. Affordable, beautiful and family friendly. A must see.

    Great turtle spotting tour
Great guided snorkel tour where we saw 4 turtles (green and loggerhead) plus a huge shoal of sardines. Plus lots of other tropical fish around the coral which Sandaru had planted and was growing well. You can easily find him just along Mirissa beach Definitely recommend

Myself and my mum were unsure of trying to sport the turtles ourselves and just renting the equipment or going with Serranto’s team.

We are so glad we decided to go with the guide as even though the water is easy to swim in we would NEVER have spotted them without him. They were super camouflaged so he would tap us and make sure we could see the turtle. Very much recommend!

You can find them by going to turtle point on google maps. :)

Highlight of our three week trip in Sri Lanka! We saw five turtles super close while still respecting their space. The team is super friendly and kind, it was easy to reserve the tour, good equipment, and perfect guides! Definitely a must do when in Mirissa! It’s possible tj also only rent the equipment but we loved the guided tour and highly recommend it!

Amazing, go early in the morning. We saw at least 3 turtles every time we went snorkelling, get the sun beds under the tree (not the restaurant beds), have a king coconut and then feed the wild monkeys who are so tame and gentle, a really beautiful tranquil spot

Lovely beach with sunbeds in the shade, calm water behind a reef making swimming easy.
There are turtles there to see , snorkels available from the cafes if you don’t have one, also a permanent massive shoal of baitfish hide in the bay - look for the dark patches in the water.
More peaceful than the main beach and well worth a visit.

Sandaru is the kindest and most knowledgable guide along with his colleague.
Came with two teenagers and husband)
One non swimmer . Given life jacket, board to support for floatation and opportunity to rest.
Saw many turtles and beautiful
Corals, that sandaru has supported to regrow.
Sandaru showed the teenagers, lion fish,
Puffer fish, from a safe distance ,
many other fish also.
Friendly and supporting the welfare of the animals.
We went as a small group of four with two guides and had the most amazing time …. Highly recommend sandaru And team for a safe and animal caring trip

Very nice guys, they showed huge turtles. I can’t swim, they gave me a special board and pulled me by the rope, ensuring my safety. Turtles are very big, very good emotions! I recommend this place

Instead of wasting time, searching turtles here and there and disturbing them along the way, we recommend visiting Turtle point. They helped us to spot two green turtles in just 40 minutes, without disturbing these wonderful creatures. Unfortunately, the area we were swimming around seemed to us rather scarce regarding food source for turtles, so probably turtles swim here just instinctually. If our guess is right, in the near future they will stop swimming to this place for life. Until then, again, you may try your luck with Turtle point's team.
